Love it with the sweater, Suz! Will this jacket pair well with any of the berry/burgundy in your closet? I think it might be lovely with deeper colors, too, and perhaps a lovely brown, in a addition to your beloved taupe!

As for your hair, I do think the transition would be pretty seamless, and making adjustments if you didn't like it would be pretty straightforward, as well!

I'm not tryiing to "sell" the jacket, but I think sometimes topper decisions have several layers (no pun intended). If you wear a lot of certain colors as your tops and dresses, then often you want a topper that is a different color or enough contrast to look interesting but that "goes". Your outfit is not static, but may be sans-topper much of the time or event, but then with topper in the restaurant or when the play begins or whatever. Further, in theory or reality, white jackets or shirts may "wash you out" if not careful, but may have an important role in the overall outfit or capsule. I have collected some creamy -colored jackets (trying to get the best version in terms of coolness or grayed-white or whatever), because although that color is not my best color for tops in general, it's incredibly useful to toss on over the darker or medium tones that are in the rest of the outfit, and also is part of the spring and summer vibe overall.

Color choices are a good question to ponder, as in IK's thread, and I definitely have needed to develop more focus to avoid getting helter-skelter and having lots of orphans or single-outfit items. And there's always the idea that if certain colors are "best," why would we wear any others? But in all of that, there is some room for the more dynamic nature of colors and contrasts IRL as well as for variety. I think the thing that helps me decide on some items that might not be my "normal" colors is whether it goes with lots of things I already have even if in a different way, rather than pushing me to make a lot of new purchases to make it work.

I am so sorry to disagree with everyone here... I think you look lovely, and you have styled this jacket artfully, but I am not thrilled with it on you. It may be my computer screen, but it looks like it washes you out. I feel you need more pigment. Maybe if you accessorized it with a fushia or hot pink scarf or turtle-neck... sorry I tell you the truth from what I see on my end.

As for the hair, you need a skilled colorist to try out the silver shade that would go best with your skin tone. You might be able to pull it off, à la Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada. (not the same cut though!). But I would be cautious and have a good talk with the colorist. What you might need, in fact, for the moment, are low-light in a darker cool ash shade, or darker beige.

Gaylene, that's it. I don't want to look like my younger self. I want to look like my current self. To me, that's okay. Now, I do admit, if I start growing out the grey and it's truly unflattering and you know...FLAT...and DRAB...well, then I think I'd want to give a little hand to nature. But that might not involve going blonde; it might involve some process to make it look more silver or something.

I'd go with Mr. Suz on this one. Personally, I've always used Mr. Gaylene as my reality check because he actually sees my clothes in action. If he likes something, it's usually because he thinks I look good when I wear it--end of story. His fashion know-how is limited, but he does have an excellent eye for what fits and flatters me, and how bad can it be to wear something that makes me look good in my daily life?

And I love the multi-toned look of your hair. I've hesitated to comment any more on your other thread, but I get a little antsy at the common assumption that looking older is a no-no. My aim is to look like a smashing version of my current age, not a sort-of version of who I used to be in my younger incarnation. And you look pretty smashing these days, Miss Suz.

I think it provides a change. I'm hopelessly classic so i may gravitate toward that, but instead of seeing it as too tame, I think this cut and fit are much more what I think looks good than the 2 jackets I tried recently- it has a slimmer slightly more elongated. fit. Also you said it was lightweight, which I thought gives you a seasonal benefit.

I think that jacket is a bit of a departure for you, but in a good way. It does us good to shake things up a little from time to time, and that is a very flattering color for you. And if you make Mr. Suz happy by listening to his opinion, well, all the better!
I'm eager to follow your hair experiment and see how you like it. I don't think it will be as huge a change as it would for someone with darker hair to start out with. You may just end up with "Nature's highlights".
