However, you are slender and the white is not unattractive. I like the white too. I'm personally partial to navy, since I've had my favorite navy jacket for at least ten years. It goes with everything and hides dirt. But I think you've got your heart set on white, and I see no reason not to go for white. This isn't the only jacket you'll ever get. Maybe take a chance on something less practical (if it gets dirtier).
