Thanks ladies--

I looked at the Espirit blazer-- cute, but if I am going for polyester I would really like washable.

Mac, thank you for the concern. It has been about four days since the accident and my neck is starting to feel better, so I don't think there was any damage to my person. I have just been very grouchy and sore and was afraid that I had a neck injury but am finally beginning to feel better after feeling worse day after day. My car was totaled-- the frame was bent. I was the only person involved that was not at fault, but essentially a man that fled the scene caused a three car pile up and another semi to swerve off the road into the ditch. The person that originally hit me was very petite and was injured by the airbag and had to be taken to the hospital, but I believe her injuries ended up being minor. We were all very lucky as all three vehicles were totaled. So, I have been a big distracted as of late and the accident has affected stress levels and therefore my heart condition.

elly, it's hard to link to esprit, but Esprit has a boyfriend blazer for 89.50, and they also have a 30% off promotion this week. Shipping and returns are always free with them...so I think it would totally be worth a shot.

(go to blazers/suits => blazers to find it)

Sorry ladies, I don't know how I missed this. I was in a serious car accident yesterday and I guess I have been scatterbrained since.

Thanks for the tips ladies---

Hmm, I have heard bad things about VS when asking around, but good things about them from a friend of mine.

I would seriously reconsider the bf blazer and sweater (although I am putting in an order anyway, they sell my fav. sweats, but we don't have a store within 250 miles). I just can't find anything similar. I was going to order from them because I need longer than normal sleeves, and my friend said that she had had luck with them at VS. Also, I checked the heights of individual models wearing the clothes, and the sleeves come over the hands of the 5'10-6' girls, so I was hoping for that. I could really use some help looking, cause I can't seem to find things.

I am shopping only online--- the only things we have available locally for shopping is the western wear store, a JCPenney that has only a handful of the clothes that most Penneys do, and a PacSun (teen surf/skate store). I have an hour drive to reach a Dillards and a ross.

Can you order Uniqlo online? If so it sounds perfect for me! I am definitely thinking the gap sweater in the red, but will probably put off my order until I can make sure I at least have a blazer/jacket and another sweater or two to try. No point in having items picked out for the look and having them become orphans.

I would second the caution about VS clothing. There are so many other good options out there. The Gap long sleeve ts will serve you well. Long sleeved ts are one of my winter staples also, I really like the neckline on the vintage one. I may not have helped you at all, but your post has spurred me to check out that shirt, so thank you!

I really like your choices for the Gap top and sweaters. They are lovely basic pieces that can be worn in so many ways. I haven't heard great things about Victoria's Secret clothing (fit /quality, but all second hand hearing), so keep your eyes open for boyfriend blazer anywhere else too (unless you are only shopping online).

I second the Uniqlo recommendation from roseandjoan! I got just a couple of their base layer tops last year (1 short sleeve scoop neck and 2 long sleeve scoop neck) and I LOVED them. (In fact, if they do online USA shopping again this year, I will ignore SYC for them!) They are not cotton, but they worked wonders under my sweaters, dresses, etc. They filled in low necklines like a cami too. I would not have worn them alone though. . .

Okay nice choices, here are my opinions

If the jacket is back ordered I would look elsewhere as there are still tons of BF blazers available.

Red is the colour of the season so I would choose the gap sweater in red.

The VS cowl neck looks more elegant in black.

The supersoft tee colours look great.

I just had to stop here, I completely understand the need to wear long sleeve base layers in Winter so thought I would mention Uniqlo’s Heat Tech , many of us on the forum wore them last winter and they are warm, close to the body (so no bulk) and do not need to be ironed. These are what I will be wearing as my base layer this Winter.

http://shop.uniqlo.com/uk/list.....r/heattech

and here is a thread from last year
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....to-be-true

Awesome-- thank you for bumping Michelle!

Rute, I appreciate your reply. I really like the blazer and am going to call today and see if there is some way to get it earlier. I like the sweater too, but not in purple-- probably in the orangy color. The purple is very pretty, but my least favorite color on me!

Hi ladies!

I am getting ready to put in my "big" orders for the season---

I currently have two gap l/s favorite tees (one in charcoal, one in black), a dark blue light cotton l/s knit blouse-y top, and two graphic print thermal tops (one grey, one dark blue).

I also have two plaid light (almost gauzy crinkle, but not) cotton blouses with 3/4 tab sleeves. Both are henley style with the buttons coming only halfway down. One is a turquoise with navy, green and red. The other is purple with navy and brown. I have one slim-fit black l/s button down with lace insets at the sides. I also have a velour (sweat) tunic length cowl neck l/s "thing" in a gunmetal color.

I have already ordered two black slim fit zip up sweatshirts (borderline "gear") for things like trips to the grocery and very casual days this fall and winter when I have class but am not working the same day (mostly fridays).

I found this bf blazer (http://www.victoriassecret.com.....vsdWrapper) --- although I may have to look elsewhere because it is currently backordered as of now. However, prior to realizing that I planned at least 10 outfits with it with things from my own closet and two additional sweaters and a handful of long-sleeved ts. This sweater (http://www.gap.com/browse/prod.....;cid=11778) in red or black, and this sweater (http://www.victoriassecret.com.....vsdWrapper) in orange/coral or black. I need help deciding on which colors.

I was thinking the supersoft l/s tee (http://www.gap.com/browse/prod.....;cid=17159) in red (to go under black sweatshirts and blazer) and navy (to be worn under the plaid blouses to winterize them).

I was also thinking the vintage l/s tee (http://www.gap.com/browse/prod.....;cid=17159) in white and black to go under the sweatshirts, gap sweater, and blazer (different neckline than my older, looser black one).

I was thinking the favorite l/s v-neck (http://www.gap.com/browse/prod.....;cid=17159) in brown to wear under the purple plaid blouse and also under the gap sweater (especially in red).

The last one I was interested in was the striped supersoft l/s tee (http://www.gap.com/browse/prod.....;cid=17159) in black and white to wear under the sweatshirts, the gap sweater, and the blazer.

I wear a l/s tee everyday in the winter as my base layer as my arms get hopelessly cold. I have about 10 nice summer t-shirts and that number generally works for me with laundry rotation. However, I want to know if it seems like overkill. Is there something I should be thinking about but I am missing? Anything you would eliminate or add? (I have a pair of black slacks, several pair of jeans, and one good smart casual dress) Any recommendations about what to do with the blazer being backordered? (till JAN!) I spent weeks looking for this one with long enough sleeves, or any other casual jacket in a style I liked and now that I had almost had my order ready, poof, no longer available.
