As a partial solution I have put the close 'X' on the left so it won't go off the screen to the right. But if (1) the screen is zoomed in or (2) you rotate the iPad while viewing pictures, it will still be a little odd.

Susie, are you enlarging the page while the iPad is in portrait orientation (i.e. tall side up)?

Greg, this actually happens on my iPad too sometimes. In my case it's when I rotate it from portrait to landscape orientation while I'm looking at the pictures. The pictures seem to resize wonkily sometimes, so they end up off center and I lose the navigation buttons on the right of the screen. The other direction (landscape to portrait) seems to resize fine.
I'm using an iPad 2 with safari on ios5.

I think I figured it out (blushing).
Sometimes I will enlarge the page to read the text. If I then click on the photos, that's when I lose the x because I can't resize from the there.

<searching for the embarrassed face to add here>

Hi Susie,

If you can't see the X then it means something is wrong. Would you please send me a link to a forum thread where you have this problem?

Hi Greg,

I am wondering if this is unique to the ipad or the way the photos are posted or is it just me?!

When on my PC I can scroll through the photos with arrows and then X out. But when I'm on my ipad, on a lot of posts I can't access the X. It's like the pictures are bigger or something and I can't get out of the photos. I end up having to back out of the whole post and then go back in to see the responses. Does that make sense how I've explained it? And am I missing something?

Thanks!
