Aida, I have to admit to having a moment of panic when I saw the color schemes of this week's posters. Aside from Star Wars, none of them are really color combos that I do often.

Regarding the colors:
--the Indy outfit revealed that every single brown thing I own is leather.
--I don't often do all black, but I have a ton of black things, so Holly Golightly was easy color-wise. Ditto with Vertigo - I have lots of black and red, but don't necessarily wear it together too much.
--The Metropolis color scheme was the hardest. Luckily I have those mustard pants (that I chopped into crops a while back), which actually seem to go with everything. Maybe I should get something else in that color.
Diana I just love how you all of your interpretations came out, especially in light of how very different, stylistically, all of these posters are. They all have your touch for rich texture, swingy silhouettes, deep brooding color palettes, and arty maximalism. Inspirational for sure! Overall, this feels like a more diverse weekly color palette than I am used to seeing from you, though I'm not sure if that's actually right or not. And your Holly Golightly "solution" is superb ^^ WHAT a fab week!

I also super enjoyed the fun additional poses inspired by the posters

Outfit descriptions/inspirations and details:

1. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
I knew right off the bat that my crinkly off-white shirt would be
perfect for the Indiana Jones look. Indy wears a lot of brown leather,
and the overall colors of the poster are brown/cognac/orange tones, so I
pulled out a bunch of brown/cognac leather items (my cognac jacket and
boots, and a brown braided leather belt). Even my hair matches! I also
used my pewter crossbody satchel, ideal for stashing stolen idols (and
bagged lunch) while on the go. Finally, my Zara deer scarf has the
tones of green, gold, and orange seen in the background image of the
poster.
H&M shirt, Gap jeans, Miz Mooz boots, Oakwood leather jacket, Zara scarf, and Audrey Brooke satchel

2. Star Wars
Here is my Star Wars outfit. It was warm enough for bare legs for once
so I wanted to wear a skirt. I was inspired by the colors of the
poster, the sci-fi theme, and the draping of the clothing. I chose my
long sheer blue tunic and belted it over a drapey skirt. The white
scarf was chosen to reflect the pops of white in the poster. (I was not
crazy about the scarf here to be honest, but only realized after I had
left home that a white jacket would have worked too. Oh well.) I added
pops of metallics (belt, oxfords, bag) to represent the stars,
lightsaber, and droids. Finally, the distressed texture and light color
of my shoes remind me of Tatooine, the desert planet where the movie
begins.
Put my hair into a single (messy) cinnamon roll bun in honor of Princess Leia. =)
Dorothy Perkins blouse, Kenneth Cole skirt, Ann Taylor belt, Born oxfords, H&M scarf, Elliott Lucca bag

3. Breakfast at Tiffany's
How do you solve a problem like Holly Golightly?

Those of you
who know my style will know that I'm not the type to wear formfitting
black sheath dresses, pointy pumps, and pearls. Not to mention the fact
that Holly Golightly's getup would be totally inappropriate in lab.
Nevertheless, I think her hourglass silhouette is absolutely iconic, and
I knew I wanted to recreate it somehow for today's outfit. So how to
keep that iconic hourglass shape while still remaining true to my own
style and environment? Slouchy cropped pants! These pants actually
produce an exaggerated hourglass curve because they are baggy around the
hips; I paired them with a fitted scoopneck black tee, a blingy
necklace, and even a Cat pendant around my neck. My almond toed black
booties are a great substitute for the pointy black pumps which I do not
own. I also added the striped cardigan for warmth in the lab; the
green and white stripes echo the green stripe at the top of the movie
poster.

(I will admit to being ridiculously pleased with myself
for my solution to the Holly Golightly problem, and for the outfit
itself too!)
Gap tee and cardigan, French Connection crops, Everybody booties, Ann Taylor blingy necklace, Etsy cat pendant

4. Metropolis
This was the hardest one for me this week but I am pleased with how it
turned out. I love Art Deco style but it's not very well-represented in
my wardrobe. (I do own things with sharp, geometric patterns but they
all also appear to be drapey.) Also, much of my urban stuff is
steampunk urban, which is not really the same thing as modern urban at
all.

I went with the black/grey/gold color scheme and tried to
incorporate some of the sharp lines and urban touches. My mustard pants
are the perfect dirty gold color from the poster. My top (which is
actually a dress hiked up and layered over a tee) has the sharp,
straight lines from the poster. I added my sharp, structured black
blazer for some harder, urban edge. My boots have a patent shine as a
nod to the sci-fi theme but their asphalt grey color is perfect for
conveying the mood of the gritty, urban, dark city. Finally, my silver
bag (which also made an appearance for Star Wars) has more sharp,
straight lines and sci-fi sheen.
Olivia Moon dress/tunic, Ann Taylor tee, Anthro pants, Naot boots, Nanette Lepore jacket, and Elliott Lucca bag

5. Vertigo
This is the poster that I've been looking forward to all week! My closet is full of Vertigo-inducing things.

I
thought my black and grey circle print skirt was absolutely perfect for
this challenge. I paired it with a red top and my red trench to get
the color scheme from the poster. Because pattern mixing seems to
induce vertigo in many people, I did some of that as well by adding a
polka dotted layering tee under the red top. The laces on my boots and
coat add more patterns of crisscrossing lines. Finally, I added a pile
of circle chain bracelets, which overlap with each other like the
circles on the poster.

I thought it was appropriate that my attempt at trying to pose like the figure on the poster came out blurry and trippy.
French connection red top, Uniqlo heattech layering tee, H&M skirt, Danskin nude tights, Steve Madden boots, Etsy bracelets, Anthro trench

First off, thank you so much to Ornella for spearheading this most recent incarnation of the Picture Perfect Challenge! It was one of the previous PPCs that spurred me to start posting regular WIWs, and I've been a big fan of these creative challenges ever since.

This week's theme was movie posters, and here are my interpretations.

(I am going to copy/paste my descriptions and add outfit details in a reply below, so as not to clog up the first post with too much text!)
