So this was both easy, because I have so many pieces to choose from, and challenging, to not just repeat my usual winter outfits.</p> <p>For this one, I could see the bit of green on the bottom half, but mostly it looked dark, so dark that no light can escape. So I chose these black wale-less corduroys, for the ultra-matte effect.</p> <p>On top, I pulled from my red-sweater drawer one that wasn't too blue-red, or too warm for today's weather. I wanted the effect of the black birds against the red sky, so I was happy to come across this scarf. I think of it as a warm red, but if I'm honest, the colour is deep orange.</p> <p>Funny, my eye didn't register the white letters as part of the picture at all; I passed over all the items with white in them.</p> <p>I did a ponytail with a red tartan scrunchie that included a tiny yellow stripe. The sweater is the closest to orange red that I own, the scarf picks up the orange and yellow and also, in the paisley, the curving lines of the road, the charcoal trousers with their wide legs hint at the era (40s?....I have not read the book so so not know for sure but associate Agatha Christie for 30s to early 60s) and also the dark noir-ish vibe. And red shoes.
