I think the fit is good but personally I find them too short. My micro check pants are this length and shape and I only like them tucked into boots.

You guys are so helpful!

Hmm, I will aim not to be too timid, but I will use Thistle the Oracle's point of view and evaluate their place in my wardrobe carefully.

They are a little harder to make work than some items. That "reach for" factor that Thistle used. Also, they are "the same" (though they look different) from a couple of items, including the Leith pants, in terms of the role they would play, or when I will or won't wear them , but the Leith's are actually easier to style, feel more comfortable. So, it might be that like a lot of things, the tuxedo pants could work, but they will interfere with getting more use out of some things I have, and yet not be more fab.

I am probably going to return them, but not be discouraged to try something similar but more wearable and more "me".

I like the fit (and the length) of these trousers on you. I think they're very flattering, and have doubts about a size up. #2 is the perfect top for them IMO. Straight across hem, reaches your hips. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the banded hem sweater in #4, not for these pants. Seems a mood mismatch to me...

I like the cut of the leg, the lengthening black stripe, and the track pants vibe. Thanks to our similar wide hips/slim legs build my eye goes straight to the outer thigh (bet yours does, too) and sees a little strain, but it may be that only we pretty pears would notice. For me a larger size often has too much volume in my thighs, so I wear this fit as long as the pants don't feel too tight. The curves of the blue top semi-tucked or of the burgundy top are very flattering.

I think they fit well.

Question is do you like them? From your post, the answer seems to be "no". If you are anything like me, it means you won't wear them more than a few times and they will be donated.

I like these a lot for you! I think they look quite flattering on the hip and thigh. I can't see the details of the shoes, but from what I can see, they look good too. Love the outfit with the burgundy hi-lo top.

Here are a few pics of the tuxedo pants.
1 with high-low silk shirt; 2 -3 with longish knit top. 4 with white top, which is actually fluid but not enough IMO for these pants
I'm not very comfortable with the tucked look.

I am awaiting a size up in case more fluid than hippy fit is better, but one concern is the fit may "sag" anyway--could be the fabrication.

These are shown at actual length, with a loafer.

So, 2 main issues--1) I like the change of pace from classic trousers, but it pushes my comfort zone to wear the sllm cut through the hips--and may be too tight in this size, or I look mutton-y or something.
Anna's post on Practicality was of interest because I think suitable Tops are harder than I thought, for proportions, so I might end up wearing just one or 2 ways (did not photo my black tops, doh!) because at work I would not do anything casual like semi-tucking a sweatshirt.
2) The length I like for these would be the longest length that is acceptable--so sort of scrunched onto a flat, but that may be about 1/2" or so less than current length. If I wear these, I would treat them more more like track-y pants than cropped.
