You know, the color pairing that I would have never considered without the painting is actually the burgundy with the bright orange. Ordinarily I would've just grabbed a black coat. But the burgundy with orange is great! Aliona, I think the liberty/Paige collab was from 2012, iirc. It was quite small, only a few pieces. The elements of the painting I'm playing with today: <ul> <li>The deep jewel tones with a pop of bright orange/red.</li> <li>Textural details in the clothing.</li> <li>Darker background.</li> <li>The overall rich, sensual feel of the painting.</li> </ul> I started with the central patterned teal garment.  My choices were my Liberty jeans or a teal and black patterned blouse.  Ultimately I went with the crazy pants because the other option created an outfit that was all colors on top and all black on the bottom, which I didn't like.  So, crazy pants.  The cobalt blazer was a no-brainer - it even has subtly puffy sleeves, although they are nowhere as dramatic as the ones the woman in the painting is wearing!  For the pop of orange, I pulled out this old handknit lace scarf.  The patterning in the pants, the hazy silk-mohair lace, and the leather boots provide the rich, textural details, and I also wore my daisy ring to echo the flower design on the woman's sleeves.  The gold zips on the boots could represent the gold picture frame in the background, although that was not intentional.  (I originally wanted to wear a flower pendant too but I quickly realized I couldn't wear it with the scarf.)  Finally, my burgundy coat is a pretty good approximation of the background.  Could not resist taking a "woman with book" photo too.  My couch is not orange, but it is teal!  And my book is Mary Oliver's most recent book of poems, Blue Horses, which features a painting by Franz Marc, one of my favorite artists, on the cover.  I thought it was appropriate, plus it matches my outfit.  ;) (Tinley Road blazer, Gap tee, Liberty x Paige jeans, CK boots, handknit scarf, Georg Jensen ring, Kenneth Cole coat)
