Your feelings about the lighter jacket version are in line with mine about my outfit. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/picasso-challenge-1-the-charnel-house-1#post-1457160 Mon, 16 Mar 2015 16:20:26 +0000 Diana 1457160@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I wanted to convey several things with my interpretation of this painting: </p> <ul> <li>The greyscale palette</li> <li>The combination of straight and curved lines.</li> <li>Hectic juxtaposition of patterns of different scales and intensities.</li> <li>The overall dark mood of the painting/subject matter.</li> </ul> <p>The palette was obvious - shades of grey, black, and cream.&nbsp; I mixed three patterned items - the tank with a small, regular print, the jacket with a moody, shibori/tie-dye print and crinkled texture, and my Naot Origami boots, with an irregular, angular pattern (might as well call these my "cubist boots"!)&nbsp; I paired these items with streaky, faded black jeans. I also added a necklace with large round links to add some curved lines to the mix.&nbsp; </p> <p>I think the closeup works better at evoking the mood of the painting, as the small print in the top seems to be getting lost and is maybe too delicate here.&nbsp; Seeing other interpretations of this painting pop up on the forum this morning, I'm thinking a more dramatic striped top might have been a better idea.&nbsp; </p> <p>#5 is an alternate version of the outfit, which I liked but I thought the pinstriped jacket was too refined and feminine, and not dramatic enough for the mood I was going for.&nbsp; I will wear it some other time though.&nbsp; </p> <p>(Ines Raspoort jacket, Bellatrix tank, KUT jeans, Naot boots, ??? necklace) </p>
