I also agree that you are probably a hourglass ( but in my opinion you certainly do not have a prominent shoulder line), but those pants make you look like there are some pear tendency. Do you have some tighter ones ( do not have to be jeans) to take another photo in?

Thanks everyone. I consider my body fairly difficult to categorize because I don't really seem to fit in any one definition.

I thought my measurements might be helpful

Shoulder - 41
Bust - 35
Waist - 28
Hip - 39
Thighs (when I'm standing with my feet close together & measuring around both at the same time) - 39

Thanks!!

I think the experts (not me) would say you were an hourglass if your top size matches your bottom size. You might be an hourglass, but the baggy jeans make you look a bit pretty pear to me. If that is the case the A line would be my suggestion. I am a pear and have one pencil skirt that looks good, but A line is my better go to style.

I can't help much on the body type either. I see what Susan's seeing. I'll be interested to see what the body type experts say.

I think an a-line in the fabric you described would be nice. You could dress it up and dress it down and it would give you a bit more ability to move around. Not sure if that's a consideration for you. I would probably wear something that gave me that flexibility more often than something form fitting just because I like the ease of movement it would afford.

I don't really know your body type, but thought I would bump this up someone who knows could help. You look hourglassy to me, tending a tiny bit to the pear.

OK, I got my ds to play photograper, and wore my tightest jeans & t-shirt. Sorry, but the jeans are still a little loose. I haven't been able to replace all my wardrobe since loosing weight, but hopefully you'll get a better idea of my body shape. Please excuse the half dry hair & no makeup. I had to take the picture while I was thinking about it.

I believe I'm a hourglass with a prominent shoulder because the circumfrence of my shoulders is 2 inches bigger than my hip measurement.

Also, I sew & I recently bought some great white & brown tweed fabric that has a nice drape to make a skirt & a waistcoat/vest (not to wear together). I'm trying to decide between a pencil skirt & an A-line skirt. What do you all think? Dh votes pencil because it seems to match the formality of the fabric better, but I'm kind of leaning towards an A-line skirt.

Thanks!!
