Michelle - these are awesome. I think you are well set for this season. The pearls are outstanding and I love your first jacket and the cascading cardi the best though the rest are fantastic too. I would not wear the moto jacket over the cascading cardi and I would use the scarf with the black knit top. I hope you have a fantastic visit with your family. You look smashing.

Michelle, I'm late but want to add that you look gorgeous. The tweed jacket is fab on you. I also especially like the tunic and skinnies and the cascading cardigan and the red knit top.

Michelle, I am in love with your tweed jacket and the purple chain top. Have we seen you in scarves before? I can't remember, but I really like the look on you and would love to see the scarf worn "out" (not tucked in) too. (I'm very much a scarf gal myself.)

Adorable cameo from Reva!

Thanks so much for your feedback, everyone.
Angie: I'm assuming a lariat length means a longer strand... can you describe roughly where it should fall on the body and how big the pearls should be? If I got a multi-strand pearl necklace, I imagine the beads can be smaller than the gumball-sized ones I currently wear?
Your comment that I lost weight made my day, because I don't think I have. But hey, I'm not about to argue. :)
As for remaining purchases, I actually have a number of scarves, I just don't know how to wear them properly. As for boots, the site I can use is sold out of the ones I wanted, which is upsetting. I'll have to scout out an alternative, but that'll be another thread. Coat hunt picks up in earnest this week.
And the good news is that the pink cardy and red 3/4-sleeve top from photo 2 got complements from my mom, which doesn't happen every day.

Wow, Michelle. Thanks for the pics! Have you lost weight? You look so hourglass-y. Little waistline!

Here’s my 2 cents on your purchases:

1.	KILLER tweed jacket. Retro and very pretty. Will look nice unbuttoned too. How about a floral pin? Gorgeous with the pink shirt and pearls. Not too busy at all. Excellent pants! Make sure you have enough length for heels.

2.	Good grief! That burgundy top is KILLER. AMAZING on you. And you look outstanding in pearls, I can barely stand it. You need a lariat length. Fabulous skirt too! Add heels and textured hose and you’re fit to see the Queen.

3.	The jacket looks quite nice over the skirt. You can definitely go with a shorter jacket with the skirt too. Try your new tweed jacket over the skirt.

4.	KILLER cascading cardigan! How do you do it? It doesn’t really work with the moto jacket but it will work well under a coat. Try it under your new trench?

5.	FABULOUS chain detail top! WOW. Looks wonderful with the pants.

6.	Beautiful new pink cardigan. Fit is perfect! It looks like a dark red on my screen but it could be a deep dark pink in real life. I agree with Marianna that it’s classic, but it will layer well under coats because it’s thin and slim cuts, and we could always spunk it up with a belt or scarf. Pop over your biker jacket too!

7.	Great black tunic with skinnies! I love it WITH the scarf. Hmmmm. Is that a long scarf? Perhaps it can lie over the tunic for more drama?

Michelle ( hi Reva!), you are INCREDIBLE. I don’t know how you do it, but your new purchases are beautiful and very versatile. You need a few cheap colourful scarves, a fab coat and boots and you’ll be good for a while.

WELL DONE!!!

Michelle, I like all of it! The tweed jacket is particularly great, in my opinion. Everything looks like it fits you well, and you have a good mix of basic you can use a lot (skirt, pants, jacket, pink cardigan) and interesting new pieces (tweed jacket, cascading cardigan).

I vote to keep the pink cardigan if you don't have something like that already. It's a good basic you can wear with a lot of things.

On the offchance that anyone's seeing this now.. Just finalizing my weekend packing. Do I take the pink cardy or should it go in the return bag?
Incidentally tags have already come off the purple chain top, the grey pants and the cascading cardy. Everything else is still up for discussion.

Michelle, the only reason I'm not wild about the pink cardi is because there are so many "new" cardi silhouettes right now, and this one is quite traditional. That's not to say that's bad though! I just feel like the cascading cardi looks more updated. The fit is absolute perfection though! It's a nice classic piece, you know?

Thanks for your comments, guys.

Marianna, what is it about the style of the pink cardy that you're not feeling? Is it unflattering on me? Is it that the knit is too chunky? As for wearing the scarf untucked, I'm never sure about how long it should hang. The turquoise one goes all the way to my waist and I felt it was a bit much, but I could be dead wrong (I have no clue about scarf rules). :)

Peekay: I'm wearing the purple top as we speak and I took your advice on omiting the necklace. For lack of a bangle (which I should totally get, thanks for the reminder), I opted for silver teardrop earrings.

Julie: Glad you like most of the purchases! Are you agreed with Marianna or Peekay regarding the tweed jacket?

Stringy: I'm glad you like the red top, because it's absurdly comfortable and for some reason I always feel good in that colour.

I don't really have anything constructive because everything looks so very beautiful.

I agree with Peekay, when wearing the chain top I would forgo the necklace.

Outfit six, I would describe the shade as plum, on my monitor it appears to be a dusky pinky purple colour. It looks lovely with black but would look equally good with brown, grey or even ink blue.

Enjoy your trip Michelle, I hope you have a fabulous time.

That pencil skirt and the chain detail top are great!
Also love the scarf.. I need to try that.

With the chain neck, I'd skip the necklace and throw on a bangle bracelet... spread out the shiny.

You were worried about the jacket, and I have to say I don't love it. The width of the collar and the high top button don't do anything to lengthen you.

Everything else looks good! Pretty successful shop up, I think.

Super sweet and versatile tweed jacket! I love that you added a pop of color. I think the collars look just fine together, not too much at all!

So I am totally inept when it comes to skirts, but I actually really like the proportions in #2! That's actually one of my favorite looks on you and it shows off your killer curves! #3 looks great to my eye too! You wear pencil skirts very well!

I already told you that I am stealing your cascading cardi. LOVE it. I love ombre. This is a great look for you!

Love the purple top in #5. The chain embellishment is fun and classy. Looks great with the pants!

The pink cardi is okay... I'm not too crazy about the style but it fits you like a glove! It's a nice everyday layering piece, though.

Love your tunic and scarf! Wear scarfs more often! Looks fab! You might want to try the scarf un-tucked, but it looks good either way!

Good work, shopping champ! You look beautiful!

Here it is: the fruits of yesterday's shopping spree. Please be honest; the store has an excellent return policy and is located three blocks from the newsroom, so sending things back will be a snap. These pictures come to you with the much-appreciated help of marianna the Great, as usual.

Note: I didn't plan to wear the pearls in just about every outfit, it just kind of worked out that way.

1. Tweed jacket with new black pants: I am also wearing a fuchsia button-down that I already owned under this, as I'm guessing a pop of colour is in order. Is this the right way to go, and does the jacket look ok on its own? Is there too much action at the neck with the jacket's oversized collar?

http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....kpants.jpg

2. Pencil skirt and new knitwear: I know the top is likely too long for this skirt, I just wor it this way for expediency. Verdicts welcome on both pieces.

http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1

3. Is this the length of top/jacket I should be sporting with the skirt? And does the jacket even work with this? Other styling suggestions welcome.

http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1

4. Cascading purple cardigan over boot cut jeans, i.e. my hybrid of MOTG formulas 1 and 4. Here they are both with and without my leather moto jacket:

With: http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....amed-1.jpg
Without: http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....nnamed.jpg

5. Purple top with sort of chain detail around the neckline, worn with new grey pants. Again, verdicts welcome on both pieces:

http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....ypants.jpg

6. Black pants worn with new pink cardigan (what shade would you call this, and what else would it go with)? Does it work to put this over an all-black ensemble like this? And does it look ok in its own right?

7. A comfy black tunic worn over my RL straight legs. In an attempt to incorporate Angie's suggestions to liven up a black outfit, I took a first stab at wearing a scarf with an outfit like this, tied in what I hope resembles the Angie knot.
With scarf: http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1

Sans scarf: http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1
Does either work look and does the tunic look alright?

Thank you endlessly, as always. Your comments will serve me well all season, but will also help me out tonight as I pack for a visit to my family. They're lovely and fabulous in just about every way, but they've been known to make digs about my size/overall looks and I'm always paranoid about my appearance when I visit.
