A lot of retailers, like Zappos or Macy's, remove the item as soon as (or very soon after) an item is gone. Nordstrom is one of the retailers that tends to leave links and images to sold-out items live a little longer than others - though they always mention that the item is no longer available.

Yup, Mo you are right. Very often when something is sold out the link re-directs you to the home page of that site. I am not surprised that this is happening after a year , the "stuff" is all gone.

This happens on the retailer's end I think. Once an item is sold out they remove the link. I find it frustrating, too. Sometimes I just want a visual representation, if not the exact item itself.

This is probably more of a technical question,

I was reading Angie's post of December 2010 about scarves.
There were about ten links to see the scarf she had selected for the season, but the link takes you to Zappos or Nordstrom, etc. and the page says it is no longer there.

Is there a way to have a photo remain with the article instead of the link so the reader can have visuals, even though the article is last year?
