My toes yell loudly when they're pinched, and these (like most ASOS-sold shoes) don't even have half sizes. There's just a lot of room *around* in the shoes. They're really not made for my feet.</p> <p>Joyce, they might be. I have a few other pair in this style and they're fairly roomy across at the ball of my foot. It hasn't really bothered me, though, as long as they stay on firmly. They really were quite comfortable, at least for the few minutes I had them on and walking about. Unfortunately they literally fell off my foot when I first struck that pose. Even with inserts they weren't very comfortable just for the 5 minutes I was walking about. The double-strap shoes were more comfortable.</p> <p><b>Elizabeth P</b>, thank you for verbalizing the issue with #1 and dark hose. I've been thinking it was a matter of contrast (not too stark) but the visual weight of the shoe is also important. The sparkly #3 shoes have more weight, whereas #1 almost disappears. They are very "light" shoes. The opaques will definitely be negotiable; I knew it would be the hardest sell with any of these shoes, so that's why I tried them. (Ironically, these really aren't opaque; they're only 40 denier.)&nbsp; But if it's truly cold I will be wearing boots anyway.&nbsp; I did unearth some more patterned/semisheer black tights, and I bought some interesting gray patterned ones as well. I have some WIW's to share.</p> <p>I'm sure I'll wear the #1 shoes year-round, too. One of the suggestions was for pewter metallic shoes, so I ordered several options from ASOS. The package finally came, so here they are!</p> <p>I've pretty much decided on which I may keep; 3 of 4 are definitely going back. But I would still love any opinions!</p> <p>1-3: Pointy-toe flats with black trim and wide elastic ankle strap. They are truly a shiny pewter; reflecting slightly pinky because of the dress and lighting. They are quite comfortable and I like the look and feel.</p> <p>4-6: Low-heel pumps with double straps. These are also quite comfortable. I think they look too blingy for work. The smooth shiny bits are quite shiny, and the main material is a pewter lame-type fabric. I love metallic shoes everyday, but these look like party shoes.</p> <p>7-9: Antique pewter leather loafers. I admit, this isn't my favorite type of shoe with dresses... I ordered these to give it a try. And I'm still not convinced. It didn't help that they're definitely too short/too narrow in the toes.</p> <p>10-12: Block heel pewter ballet pumps with black trim. Ilike the look of these, a lot more than I thought! Unfortunately they are not comfortable. Best for a higher-volume foot (mine is NOT) and they somehow feel... hard and inflexible when moving.</p> <p>The first shoes are the ones I'm considering keeping. The strap and trim hide on black opaque tights, but they'll show up on my more sheer and patterned ones. </p>
