Thank you, ladies, for your supportive and reliable replies. I am "mall shopping" tomorrow and I plan to check out your suggestions at Banana Republic, J Jill and J Crew. Those are probably my best fit options. I sometimes find that a tall is just too long for me in the torso (I'm long-legged), but thanks for the thought @Anne. And since I've got the chambray covered, I'll go for the denim ideas, thanks, @Christieanne. If I find one, I'll post it for your opinions! Thanks for the warm greetings to the forum!!

Hi and welcome! Two sources for you - Old Navy (their shirts run long) but they may only have chambray. Land's End (also run long) goes up to 18 in regular and even has plus size if needed. LE is easy to order from online and do returns. They have a nice denim shirt on the website.

Look forward to seeing you here! I had surgery to repair a torn hamstring in October and am in a similar situation as you are trying to get back into things.

I know you're probably going to think this is crazy but have you tried a men's denim shirt? I have been wearing a boys' size large (I am very petite) and I am very pleased with the fit. It is longer and unfitted, so it is more like a tunic, which I prefer with jeggings. The only thing that I don't love is that the arms are a bit wide for me but I roll and scrunch the sleeves anyway so it is not obvious.

Here is one that looks quite nice:
http://www.orvis.com/store/pro.....t_id=15560

Here are a few WIW's with my boys' shirts:

I recently purchased a denim shirt from J.Jill. I am at the opposite petite end of the spectrum so can't speak to how the shirt would run in your size since I bought a petite. The color is more medium blue but nice fabric. It is called *fitted* but really isn't much; it just means it has darts and isn't boxy. J.Jill runs big so you don't need to size up. I bought my shirt online on sale, so I don't know what the supply is now. I don't know how to link, but I'm on the run anyway. . .best wishes in your search.

J. Crew and Banana Republic don't have denim shirts in tall sizes (online anyway) ... which surprises me. I'm 5'10," too, and I'm assuming you'd like that option to compare with a regular size? Maybe not, but just something to note.

I got mine from Banana Republic and last I checked (this past Saturday), the denim shirts were still there and under $100.

Hi ladies (and gents?)! I am new to the forum and I'm so excited that I get to pick your brains for advice. I am tall, 5'10", but as wide as I am tall. No, just kidding about that part! But I have struggled with my weight for over a year after going through achilles tendon surgery and a loooooong period of inactivity. I've always been large boned, but wore my weight well, even tho I haven't been "skinny bones" since H.S. I feel like my sense of style is really good and I look best in classic, structured cuts because of my weight. I'm searching for the perfect denim shirt, preferably dark & soft, no more than $100, to wear with my red skinny jeans by NYDJ,my white jeans, or a below-knee length skirt. I usually wear a sz 14, but my shoulders are broad and so is my back, so I sometimes have to size up. GRRRR.... Any suggestions? (That's me on the R in pic 1, trying desperately to hide. In pic 2, I'm on the L...duh)
