Thanks so much Lyrebirdgully! Two great solutions. I'm definitely going to keep my eye's peeled for a belt with a self covered buckle in one of my neutrals. Makes sense what you say about the shape of the pendant, maybe I'll test it with another cheap one later one.

I LOVE pendants and big necklaces AND I love belts- but so often the 2 worn together can be a bit much. And I hate having to choose to wear either one or the other!
I've found a great way around this clash is to have belts which have a self covered buckle i.e the buckle is covered in leather, the same as the belt. This sort of belt in black, brown, grey, navy etc is an absolute workhorse. It goes with whatever jewellery you are wearing, regardless of the colour of the metal, and it also allows you to emphasise your wrists with bracelets.
PS., with your glasses which are a somewhat rectangular shape, look out for a pendant which is also an irregular rectangle shape e.g.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_UOC3.....613_59.jpg
You will find that this "bookending" effect tones down any "clashing' tendencies with your accessories. For example, you'll probably find it easier to wear the belt in your pics at the same time as a rectangular pendant - as the belt buckle is also somewhat rectangular in shape.

I think the length and size is perfect for you Astrid. BTW -- it can be fun to wear a pendant AND a scarf. Is is a little more maxmal, yes, but it can really work, particularly with solid tops and jackets.

Thanks Nancy! Yes, I'm glad I have it as an option.

Thanks Jonesy! Makes sense about the matching hardware of the belt, I think that might have been the problem. I'll try to pay attention to that the next time I use it.

I think it's perfect on you and I can see it being really versatile. If I am wearing a longer silver (or metal) necklace, I do tend to leave off the belt (especially if it has matching metal hardware--different if the belt is really distinctive from the necklace, if that makes sense) so maybe a part of you is thinking one or the other, when you look at the pics?

I really like it, Astrid. Pendants are really useful for adding a vertical line to any outfit (like Janet said). You might not wear it a lot, but you'll be glad you have it for those times you need it. Glad you're keeping it....

Perfect length, really like it on You Astrid pls keep! I also like shiny (and mostly longish) pendants on different colourred leather threads, that blend in my sweatters or tops, so that only pendant pops out of my outfit, you can also consider that for you, that look can be more casual, if needed.

Astrid this looks GREAT - def. keep! You should be wearing it often, with or without tucking and belts. It creates such a nice v-line that is very flattering, and the pendant itself is also quite nice with a vintage vibe. I read that "Baroque" was in this season so this is kind of a small nod to that (in my eye at least).

I really like this pendant Astrid and think it suits you beautifully! The length is lovely on you, the size is not overwhelming nor too dainty, and the design on the pendant itself has a bit of a vintage look to it which I think is lovely on you. I vote to keep and wear often!

This is the kind of pendant I like - longer and with some weight to it. I also use the pendants to create a vertical line in an outfit. It can be hard to find a pendant that is not too short - this one looks good to me!

I love this look and wore it a lot when practicality wasn't order of the day - now I stick to shorter necklaces, bracelets and scarves, more control over them and less risk of getting tangled when chasing the kid or cycling around.

I so miss wearing my mega pearl!

So, my vote is - keep. It's lovely in itself and can really add another dimension to the outfits, from tee shirts to dresses.

I like it and think it looks good. I like pendants for creating a vertical line when I'm wearing a high neckline, adding a little shine and texture to an outfit that needs a little oomph, or bookending shoes that contrast with an outfit (see my WIW from yesterday for an example), etc. I tend to wear pendants with untucked shirts and without a belt these days to keep just one focus in that area of the body.

I've bought this pendant necklace some time ago when I realized that I didn't have a pendant necklace at all. It was cheap, it's just some metal and not silver. It has a bit weight to it though, so that's nice.

Now I'm not sure whether to keep it or not. Returning it would still be possible - and I don't want to keep something less than ideal even if it was cheap. Although I don't wear necklaces often, so it might be just a matter of getting used to it. Or is something else off? How long should pendant necklaces ideally be? Is the scale of this alright? Or is it the combination with the belt that looks strange?

How do you choose the right one? I actually prefer real jewelry to costume jewelry these days, but I wouldn't know what points were important with a pendant necklace to make it wearable and versatile and I don't want to spend more money on the wrong one.
