I have only ever worn them without hose. Since they are black - and suede- they are too heavy looking for summer. Since they have an open toe, they can't be worn in winter with bare feet. &nbsp;I do start wearing them maybe in September because even though it is still quite warm here, they feel seasonally appropriate by then. Because it often stays fairly warm until December, I actually get several months wear out of shoes like that, because I will wear them again at the end of the winter when it's warm enough to skip socks without looking silly.&nbsp;</p> <p>I don't like hose with a shoe that is as open as a sandal but I don't mind tights (not hose) with a peep toe. Those Anyi Lu booties confuse me with their mixed signals. The style and color say "Wear me in the Fall" but the peep toes say "I'm here to keep your toes nice and cool" so covering my toes up with heavier opaque tights just looks like compensation for the lack of toe leather. I think it would work better (to my eye) in a more temperate climate. The shoe in general would work better in that circumstance.
