I like patterns in scarves and on skirts, pants, and shoes. I do have a couple of patterned jackets--actually 4--but they are sufficiently subdued to make them easier to wear. I find I'm better off not buying patterned tops or dresses except for striped tees.

Unless it's an animal print or fairly subtle, I tire of patterns relatively quickly. I could probably live happily without any patterns except for scarves and nightgowns.

I like them to pull colors together and use tops or scarves the most. At the moment I want a warm weather weight scarf or top with both baby blue and black in the print and would love a scarf in a plaid with mustard, olive, and rust. An added neutral like blue denim, white, grey or black is also good in the mix.

Right on MsMary!! I really can't think of a pattern that I don't like maybe with the exception of ditsy florals in pastel colors, which just don't work for me.

Anywhere. But I guess most of my patterned items are scarves. They are an easy and fun way to unite or echo various colours of the outfit.

I love patterned pieces - have them in every category except coats and shoes ( would love to add some ). Some are classic like stripes, polka dots, ikat print; some are mixed like floral with stripes.
Patterned pieces do draw more attention to the wearer but I often feel like they draw attention away from my straight body ( no curves, prefer geometric prints over floral and paisley ) to the cloth itself.

Go MsMary!

I'm a big fan of patterned pants. Love them. And because winters are long here, I also enjoy patterned coats (not with the patterned pants!).

But the more I think on it, the more I'm with MsMary. I am rather attracted to loud, geometric patterns on almost anything... and animal prints, and florals, and polka dots, and stripes...

Ha, it would be easier to say where it isn't- I have no patterned bras. I have animal prints everywhere, lots of floral tops and dresses, striped tees and jackets, polka dot blouses. Most of my pants are solid, but I have two pairs of polka dot pants, two pairs of snake print, and three plaid pairs.

This is one obvious reason I am a Boden fan. About the only print I don't wear is camo. I like military colors, but not the print.

I’m definitely not a big pattern person, but I do enjoy the odd patterned bottom or topper. They are usually unexpected finds and often become workhorses for me. Because I have a larger chest, I find that patterned bottoms are more flattering on me than patterned toppers. Patterned toppers draw unwanted attention to an area I’d rather not have emphasized. But sometimes I’ll just wear them anyway, simply because I enjoy the pattern.

I have patterns in: tops, skirts, dresses, pants, jewelry, a coat, socks, sandals, boots, scarves, bags, masks. Most of my patterns are low to medium contrast, and usually I don't pattern mix, except with masks.

No patterns in: gloves, hats, shorts, sleepwear, underwear.

I have way more patterned tops than bottoms. It was a big deal when I added some patterned bottoms. I also have patterned scarves that I love but rarely wear as they often don't work with the patterned tops.

Depending on the size and color of the pattern, the pattern can draw attention to the area, or if it is a subtle, quiet pattern and the other items in your wardrobe draw more attention, the pattern may be the quieter part of your outfit. I try to decide where I want the emphasis.

I do have patterned shoes that have not had enough wears for the same reason as the scarves.

I think more people wear patterns on top, so a patterned bottom is sometimes more noticeable.

Mostly tops for me especially woven shirts. But also many of my pencil skirts. Some coats and jackets such as leopard and tonal plaids. Scarves for sure. And for some reason I like some patterned handbags— floral leather and some geometric. More solids than patterns but still have a fair amount.

As for clothing, I have only one top (in a vertical stripe) and one leopard skirt. Oh, and a leopard print coat that is a very low contrast print (it looks more like texture than pattern, really).
