I'm feeling like a prude conservative...I can't do pattern mixing but perhaps I'll come around just as you have. I love the outfit you went with -- and I really love those open-toed boots.

What great combination -- I like both. I think #2 works, since the sweater is shorter, but also more fluid -- it reads more as "cropped" than short.

I love look #1!

Both outfits are great! You look really smashing in that skirt outfit, though, and the pumps are so flattering.

They are both great looks. The patterns and proportions are great!

I know how something looks and how something feels can be quite different, but I do think the skirt is work appropriate as is. It does not look too body-con.

Both are great. I really like the sweater length with the skirt - it's a more traditional, tidy way of wearing things. But comfort matters!

Day Vies - You're right - for work, I don't like that the sweater doesn't cover my butt in such a form fitting skirt. I would be fine with it for a different non-work occasion.

I'm glad the pattern mixing looks okay. I will play around with it and see if looks better with another shirt underneath. Cognac shoes sound fun, but I'm not sure I have any except some flat boots.

I love this, and wouldn't change a thing about it, except maybe to add a pair of mod-style statement earrings and a boxy handbag. I think a layer under the sweater might dilute the effect, because the proportions are spot on in my view.

I agree with Joy -- the floral midi is cute! I agree that it works with the sweater and I think you need to choose a color from the skirt to accessorize with to make the pieces harmonize better. Maybe you could try cognac shoes/tall boots & purse to bring out the orange tones in the skirt. I actually like the skirt combo better than the pant combo the proportions seem to work better.

The sweater length is actually fine however I think you're nervous about the fact that the sweater is not long enough to cover your butt. If you're not comfortable you can't pull off an outfit no matter how cute it is.

First, I love that floral midi! To my eye it works with the houndstooth sweater, looking fun and unique. You could wear a long buttondown shirt or tank under the sweater, allowing the bottom to show below the sweater to add length.
The blush trousers also look wonderfully fresh with the sweater. YLF and so does your guard kitty.

I paired this floral midi skirt and houndstooth pattern sweater together and actually liked it although I don't usually like pattern mixing. I must be getting to used to after all these years of it being popular. Anyway, I'd like a second opinion on wearing the two patterns together. Does it look okay? I didn't end up wearing it because I decided the sweater was too short for the skirt for work. The skirt is a little tighter than I'm comfortable wearing at work without a longer top. I would wear this for a date night or other non-work occasion though. I ended up wearing the sweater with blush trousers. It's unseasonably warm here (around 70 for the high) so my feet are plenty warm enough in the open-toed shoes.

#1/2 - Pattern mixed outfit that I didn't wear today but might wear in the future if you guys think I'm on the right track.

#3 - What I ended up wearing.

Thanks for looking and any comments or suggestions are more than welcome.
