They look great on you. I hate stiff denim myself. I do find that black denim is stiffer than faded blue.

I second the suggestions of baggy jeans, and of cropping these, if they don't bother you so much.
I have a similar problem sometimes. I find the fit on my midsection varies a lot with brand. For example, Miss Sixty are stiffer than Gap. Maybe you should find a brand that works for you. And stretch helps a lot.

You could wear tights under the jeans I suppose - I've done that in very cold weather when traveling. I can wear the lighter weight here in winter because it rarely gets below freezing.

I am wondering, too. Softer fabrications like the pajama jeans. Some of the modern chino styles, washed cottons.

I've put on one white shoe so you can see the jeans. Excuse the wreckage. Am still unpacking. Oh and the crazy headband... Unpacked it, put it on my head for temporary storage ;)

Black baggy crops sound ultra cool. i don't think I've ever seen jeans like this...

How about JAG jeans - the pull-on ones? I find them super comfortable. I don't like to tuck anyway so they work perfect for me.

Do you wear lighter denim in winter? I do have lighter black 'jeans,' but I'm avoiding them because I feel cold.

Thinner, lighter weight denim fabric? Most of my jeans are not very thick or tight and I can sit cross legged in them after eating lunch. Not that it's a rule or anything.

So I've put on some black jeans. Target Louella, I think. The cut is striking me as dated. I really don't wear jeans much because they're often too stiff for my digestive system - give me stomach aches. So I don't spend money on denim and just hang on, and on, to what I've got. But I do sorta like black jeans.

Angie's post today about patience has made me realise my next step needs to be learning to think long.

My first follow on thought is perhaps hanging on to something for a long time is not the same as thinking long... Lol. That strikes me as funny.

... The question is, tho, what should I be thinking about in terms of these jeans, given my general aversion to denim but my affection for black denim, thinking long?

I don't know how to think beyond a few months! Lol.
