They're definitely comfortable now. I just wondered if they would be too hot after several hours--given the lack of breathability. I guess patent leather is actually a coated leather but these are made of some unknown man-made material

Love 'em, my guess is if they are comfortable now, they will stay that way. They probably won't stretch like leather, but will you need them to?

What is patent leather, anyway? If it's real leather, how is it made so vinyl-shiny?

I have. If it's not comfortable when you try it on, it's never going to get comfortable. The ones I've had were comfortable when I tried them on and stayed that way.

This is a question for anyone who wears non-leather shoes. I bought these "patent" loafers the other day, not realizing that they are totally non-leather. Given that they won't breathe at all I'm wondering how comfortable they will be after several hours of wear. I haven't worn loafers since I was about 12 but these were so comfortable and I thought the shiny "patent" quailty made them more a little more interesting. Any thoughts? I don't think I've ever worn a totally non-leather shoe.
