Angie, thanks for validation and thank you everyone for your thoughts. I know LC has a good reputation, I am just too obsessive and have to have all the details figured out before trying anything new

Patent wears the Seattle weather VERY well, Marianne. My SW half and half’s that you saw in this weeks clamdigger post are virtually waterproof. I traipse around in the rain in them all day long. No special care needed.

Hope you keep your sassy new patent boots!

I would think that LC wouldn't sell any boots that you couldn't wear in incliment weather so you should be good.

Marianne, considering the brand of the boot--I'd say they are meant for foul weather. Also, I think patent, by nature is more water resistant than reg. leather. Here's a link with patent care info:

I don't know for certain, but I think you can wear paten in rain, at least, without ruining them.

My cobbler recommends using windex on patent for minor scuffs.

Bumping (in hopes for any input).

Also wondering about scuff marks on patent.

I am leaning toward keeping LC patent boots - they are very comfortable and I am getting used to the patent look. I know all LC boots are supposed to be waterproof, but I was curious how patent handles bad weather in general? Would I be able to wear them in any weather without ruining them? Does patent require any special care?
Thanks!
