They are beautiful boots. I have different foot issues. I have spent a fortune looking for footwear that works for me.

Which ones did you get, GF? Have you come across a lower heeled pump that works for wide feet?

Thanks, GF. It's hard to believe that these boots work for wide feet! If you say so, of course I believe you. Always grateful for useful info like this.

About two months ago, I suggested rag & bone’s Ellis boot as an option for wide, bunion-prone feet. I ended up returning them because the pitch was just too high, and there was the slightest pinching on my bunion nerve. Most people don’t have bunions as severe as mine, so provided you can tolerate 4” heels, they would still work.

Now that the bi-annual designer sales have arrived, I’m proposing these Gianvito Rossi booties as options for those with large feet (41-42), flat feet, wide feet, bunions, or some combination thereof (in my case, all). They usually run about $1000/pair, but you can find them on sale for 30-50% off. They are obviously still very expensive, but the leather is the softest I’ve encountered on footwear, besides Miu Miu’s buckle ballet flats. These three boots felt comfortable the moment I tried them on without socks—even the 3” heels. They easily accommodate Superfeet orthotics or modified Correct Toes, if you wear either or both. I find them well-balanced and do not feel my low volume feet sliding forward.

Last year, I almost bought a velvet low-heeled pair, but thought that the velvet would quickly develop bald patches. Additionally, because I have a terrible track record with shoes, I worried that it would become one of my most costly shoe errors. The brand isn’t sold at Nordstrom, unfortunately, but is available at NM, Saks, Net-à-Porter, Matches Fashion, My Theresa, and Farfetch.

If you’re not inundated with options, they’re worth trying, especially if you belong to the beggars-can’t-be-choosers club of fit issues.
