Life is too short to wear uncomfortable shoes! Good job :)

And EXACTLY what Shevia said.

Agree with Shevia - the comfort factor is big. I do have dressy shoes that get rarely worn but if they still fit and are fairly comfortable (not shopping comfortable but wedding comfortable is fine) then I keep them.

Thank you. The comfort is the factor that made it less pandemic-driven.
I’m not applying the “ have not worn in a year” rule by itself.

If the EF shoes are comfortable now keep them until they aren't. I would not get rid of anything based on lack on events now, that could change. But uncomfortable will not magically turn comfortable (usually!).

Good job. If you need a special occasion outfit, chances are you will have the outfit and will want to update with new shoes and accessories anyway..

I recently edited my dressier shoes.

Have boxed up 7 pairs to go out the door:

-- Vaneli black suede pumps that I wore only a couple of times per year, but relied on for some years to elevate outfits for special occasions. Way too narrow and pointy now and can't tolerate heel height with that
--same pump in a tan suede
--2 pairs of lower block heeled suede pumps in camel and dark blue, also too pinchy, hat I "might could" wear as sitting shoes but they aren't currently outfit-makers and I can't see wearing them ever
--perforated light tan suede booties now also too tight. Didn't wear much when they did fit as were borderline imaginary lifestyle.
-leather ankle-strap block heel as can't tolerate the pointy + some heel.

Which does raise question of, in the future, what will be "my" dressy shoe? With fussy feet it is hard to keep "something on hand". Pointy flats are hard on my feet, and plain or very sparkly pointy flat will also go unworn. And the better question, what does it matter? Why do I like to have a just-in-case shoe?

I am keeping all my ankle strap flats
, as I see them as real contenders for this role. Though they are slightly pointy, they still are comfortable enough to walk in and wear for some hours due to being flat and I am able to size or select for roomier toe boxes with the strap holding the shoe on, and they're suede

. So I am likely to edit any dressy items or capsules around what goes with one of these!
Already all these would be becoming "occasion" shoes to some degree, but not limited to "fancy" dress..

Am considering hoarding some EF ankle strap low-heel pumps as an even dressier version, but then risk that feet will change before they get much use. So is FOMO that I would not be able to find something wearable when needed for my imaginary lifestyle! Pondering this.

Editing was easier than I thought since all of these just were not comfortable enough even for some versions of occasion-shoes.
