The reason that I returned was not the colour but rather that I wanted the fit to be perfect. Rachy's comment that the suit needed to sit smoothly resonated with me, I was concerned that even with alterations I may not get the fit right. I don't need any more clothes (that was a bit of an opportunistic purchase) so really it had to be love to keep. For most of my career I have worked in formal offices and so have had to wear suits and always enjoyed the more formal dress code. For 5 years I worked for a small family business (working part time whilst my son was a baby up until school age) and was told to wear smart casual clothing. What a nightmare that was. Not my fun weekend clothes and not the formal clothing that I love.
