<p>Thanks, Shevia! The poncho is definitely one of those drapey pieces that doesn't photograph well, but it's fun to wear, and feels so luxurious!

<p>Jeans are fantastic! Agree to wait for a better pair of barrel shaped trousers. Poncho and turtleneck are also winners!

<p><div><b>Stag</b>- Thanks for all the ideas! It's been an interesting year of seeing what I feel like wearing, and also how that fits in with past patterns. I've never been much of a legging wearer (I own exactly one pair) and that's held true, even after 21 months of mostly WFH. And, much as I love tights when I'm "out and about," I was never wearing them at home. I finally decided that I needed to listen to those feelings. But, I'm glad I waited to really see what felt right.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Angie</b>- thanks for confirming the length on the jeans! I almost got the slightly darker wash, but I didn't love the exact shade, so hoping Everlane will do these in some additional colors. And my hair is a blowout- I had a "15 minutes of fame" in-person presentation to our board of trustees. I'm not that skilled to style my hair like this on my own, but I very much appreciate that you noticed!</div><div><br /></div><div><b>lisa p</b>- happy to help on sizing! It was such a small detail on the barrel leg pants. The side seams sit slightly forward, in a way that I love. But, when I sat down, even for 5 minutes, the fabric stretched such that it kind of "pooched" out on the "back" side of the seam.<br /></div></p>

<p>It's nice to see jeans and pants on someone who seems to be exactly my size &nbsp;;) &nbsp; I quite like the barrel leg pants - even though or maybe because they aren't "too" &nbsp;barrel-is. &nbsp;But I know that niggling feeling of something &nbsp;being off , and I agree that sticking to your guns on this one is a good idea. &nbsp;Jeans look like a good fit - but curious what Angie will say about the length. Length looks perfect to me .</p>

<p><b>Kathie</b>! It’s so good to see you! You look fantastic in everything! </p>
<p>LOVE THE JEANS. Absolutely KILLER. Length looks good with the footwear. Cut the tags! Get a darker wash or colour too. Awesome essential. The turtlenecks too. </p>
<p>Poncho is beautiful and luxe! Waving to my pants twin! I wear mine a lot. </p>
<p>Your hair is STUNNING :)</p>
<p>I’m with you on adoring dresses and skirts. But do have a soft spot for cute pants and jeans. I enjoy wearing the variation and assortment.</p>
<p>Your red footwear makes me smile!

<p>I know this is supposed to be about the jeans—both pairs look good, but skip the second if they feel baggy—but the shoes distract me! The red sneakers are great. I like the other red shoes and the green sandals too. </p>
<p>It looks like your weather is what I’d feel comfortable wearing a house dress/caftan in if I’m going to be at home. I guess you have to make sure the top half is ok if you’re on zoom calls, but that’s how I like to float around at home in warmish weather. What I’m wearing at home right now is a sweatshirt or sweater with appropriate under layers and long Johns/tights/leggings. If I was going to be in and out of the house all day or wanted to be fully dressed at home in winter, I’d wear tights (or long Johns or leggings) and a soft, cozy sweater dress or maybe sweater skirt. Sometimes I might do the same on bottom (I resist wearing outdoor pants at home) with a layering top and a long cardi. None of these will work if you want to wear jeans and shoes in the house (I wear socks with rubber gripper soles or slippers I can slip off easily when I sit on my feet or curl up on the couch) but maybe you’d like to switch things up once in a while.

<p><b>kkards</b>- I hear you on the WFH hybrid wardrobe. I'm glad I took my time to figure out what I needed. Footwear is my next area to tackle. Two of my pairs of booties are really past their prime, if I'm being honest. But, it's a good opportunity to find something with the right shaft for my new pants and jeans.</p>

<p><div>Thanks, everyone!</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Synne</b>- the white shirt and jeans is such a classic look, and I'm so flattered it reminds you of Carolyn Besette. I think I want a longer/larger white shirt for a bit more of a dramatic feel, and will try this one with a blazer.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Irina</b>- I went by the Everlane size chart, read the reviews (especially convenient that I could filter by height and weight), picked a size and hoped for the best. I'm 5'6", and most often wear a US8 in pants/trousers. These are a 28 in the jeans and a 6 in the barrel leg pants- so, one size smaller than my norm, but actually my "real" size, based on the Everlane size chart. I also prefer to have very little ease in the waist, relative to how most patterns are cut, so for pants/jeans, I go primarily by hip measurement.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Suz</b>- yes, it's the tights! I don't have any pets, but somehow tights feel "fussy" to wear them around the house all day. And, I still want to feel fully "dressed" head to toe, even though no one can see my lower half on Zoom.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>CarolS</b>: I'm cutting the tags on the jeans! So glad everyone else likes them.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Firecracker</b>- Thanks for your thoughts on the length. I always feel lost on what looks current and works with footwear.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>rachylou</b>- thanks for the support!</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Zaeobi</b>- I definitely have a high tolerance for a non-stretchy waistband. And my wardrobe is in a place where slow replacement of worn out items, with a few updates makes sense. The barrel pants are close enough that if I were having laundry bottlenecks, I'd keep them.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Sal</b>- Yes! I hadn't thought about the slipper factor, but I think you're onto something. I was trying to "make do" with the pants that I had last winter, but was getting so bored with a few outfits on repeat, so for my second winter of lots of days working from home, it seemed time to make some additions.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></p>

<p>I’m also struggling to figure out my hybrid wardrobe (in fact I was just getting ready to post something about it with a WIW)…<br />anyway back to you. Love the everlane jeans, &nbsp;I like that length for fall/winter with higher &nbsp;shaft boot and sneakers, but do find it challenging for early fall/spring…but that’s probably just me, and I’m ok with winter vs spring pants. &nbsp;I quite like the barrel pants, but I’ve found if &nbsp;I have a reservation during try on, it usually doesn’t go away and it’s probably best to return them. &nbsp;I love love love the poncho! &nbsp;And yes to almost any bottom from Athleta.&nbsp;

<p>I agree with everyone else…..the ever lane look spot on.</p>
<p>I have had a merged with from home, work from the office for many years. I think it’s the footwear that can make winter skirts hard at home - slippers and pants ( or indoor sneakers etc) look acceptable -but slippers, tights and a dress feel off to me. I do like a winter dress but am realistic about how often they will be worn in our coldest months (four months of maybe once or twice a week at the most).

<p>First pair are a slam dunk to me! In fact, you could even go a little *higher* - but I'm probably biased, with my 14" rise (am under 5ft4 but that's the distance from my seat to natural waist) This is already a good height rise for you though, so YMMV. </p>
<p>I agree with the others that the barrel legs look OK here, but what's important is how you feel in them - if it's not a slam dunk &amp; you can afford to wait for another pair, then I'd encourage you to keep looking. You're braver than I am, though - I bought jeans ~7 months ago but still don't wear them sitting down (living in WFH elastic waistbands!)

<p>The jeans are great on you! I think the length looks good. It looks intentional to me, anyway. Good call on the barrel pant, though they look good in the photos. PPP is always a good strategy, when one can manage it!

<p>I love the Everlane jeans on you! Angie has been recommending them to me. I can order from Everlane but not sure how easy returns might be from Canada. So like Irina, I am wondering about sizing. And how tall you are.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I'll let Angie weigh in on length. I am no expert!</p>
<p>I applaud your decision to wait with the barrel pant. I made the mistake of cutting tags too early on two pairs of pants this year and I could have kicked myself. Oh well.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I like your strategy for hybrid work. I wear pants at home all the time in winter, too, but will wear a dress/ skirt to the office. In summer I wear skirts more easily and more often. It's the tights thing -- I have a cat!&nbsp;

<p>Everything looks great! Love, love, love Evelyne jeans on you.<br />I was looking at them myself. How do you find the sizing, true to your regular size in other jeans?

<p>Cool jeans! And outfit #3 is understated perfection if you ask me! Something very classic, almost Carolyn Besette about it. Love!

<p>
<div><br />
I had a little bit of fun with Black Friday sales, as I'm slowly<br />
figuring out what I want in my wardrobe for my mixed work-from-home and work-in-the-office life.
</p>
<p>I've come to realize that although skirts and dresses are a mainstay, year round, when I go into the office, I prefer to wear pants at home. And, I need a replacement pair of jeans. </p>
</div><div><br /></div><div>First up, the Everlane Rigid Way-High. I'd been looking for 100% cotton jeans, and thought these would be a fun silhouette to try. Honestly, I really like them, and am close to cutting the tags, unless someone sees a major flaw that I'm missing. They are definitely waist-high, and cover my belly button. It feels different to wear something with zero stretch, but in a good way. What do we think about the length? Should I go slightly shorter?
</p>
<p>I also tried the Utility Barrel Pant, and loved almost everything about them- seam details, color, shape. But, with only five minutes of wear, they seemed to bag out in ways that I think might bother me. I'd love to keep them, but am thinking PPP is better, and they should go back. And maybe a similar silhouette in 100% cotton will come out.</p>
</div><div><br /></div><div>Also picked up a couple RL ribbed turtlenecks. These have already become workhorses. And, bonus picture, the Boss navy poncho that's a top pick- fun to wear and I love the drape- with the slim fit RL pants that I copied from Angie. I love how the waistband of the pants fits, and committed to having them altered, since the seat/thighs might bag out a bit more than I want.</div><div><br /></div><div>Still waiting on a couple items from Athleta- these fill a hole for warmer gear to wear for my second winter of exercising outside. And some clogs came and went (wrong size.)<br /></div></p>
