I had this problem with lower rise pants some years ago. My solutions:
- Initially: Wearing longer tops / tunics
- Eventually: Stopping to buy and wear lower rise pants

Not so much when I sit down, but lots of the time otherwise. I think I have finally figured out what the issue is for me: to get pants with enough room for my thighs, I almost always end up with too much rise for my shoulder-to-knee length, and the waist is ALWAYS too big. Even in petites. Sometimes mid or lowish rise pants have less of an issue but it's totally unpredictable even within the same brand. I end up doing alterations, always take in the waist, and occasionally take in the seam at the bottom of the yoke on jeans or the inseam to make them fit better. Belts might help but I don't find them all that comfortable and I don't like the look on me. I get tired of it all so sometimes with junk pants (like old ones for gardening or housecleaning) I just live with less than perfect and end up "hitching up" my pants a lot as if I'm channeling Walter Brennan in some old cowboy movie. Like Laura1975, making myself sound SOOO attractive

So I guess for some of us that constant adjusting is just a fact of life, Stephanie.

Hmm, I have to pull the legs of my pants down after I stand up, but I don't think I have the problem you are describing. I wear a belt with my lower rise pants to prevent that problem.

I do for lower rise pants and jeans , but I have edited most of those from my closet as I find them uncomfortable and am loving the mid rise fits now.

I do! I often find waists too loose and thighs too tight. Smaller sizes tend to be too tight on the thighs to wear. I don't have big hips though. I go in at the waist but not out so much at hip level.

Gosh, I'm making myself sound attractive.

Yes. All the time. But I have big thighs that pants hug, and not much of a booty. So I'm always hitching pants up/down. Especially what Cindy says.

I have to do that for lower rise pants and I especially have to do that for pants I didn't take to a tailor for a waist alteration.

Does anyone else find it necessary to adjust their pant legs before sitting down and squatting? I find if I don't, my pants fall down a little and exposes my underwear.
