My earlobes are kinda messed up because when I was 15 I wanted them pierced. My mom refused, so I bought some self-piercing earrings, where you squeezed it tighter each day till they were pierced. Unfortunately, she noticed and without warning, yanked them out of both lobes while they were appx 80-90% done. Blood everywhere....left deep scarring from the hole to bottom of ears. A few months later I had them pierced at a local mall shop. Couldn't get it quite even, so it can be hard at times to get thru, gotta 'wiggle' them&nbsp; (especially straight posts, fish hooks (french wires) are easier) Still have the scars, 45 yrs later, but try and cover with larger earrings. Would've been so sad, had they closed up. Strangely, I never have this issue. Once a hole is made in my body and healed, it NEVER goes away or becomes uncomfortable to wear jewelry in. I have a number of holes in my left ear in which I haven't worn jewelry for over a decade, and I just tried earrings in them. No pain, no difficulty.
