I had the insides of the closets painted the same calming blue color as the bedroom walls, then outfitted them with white shelving. My only problem is that I tend to look way more appealing (skin tone) in the room than I do out of it. Haven't had any negative affects on how the clothing looks in the closet, although some shades might. Our living room is a blue and because our house doesn't get a lot of natural light it is a very "cold, depressing" feeling room. I found it lightened the small space up and made it feel more like shopping at a department store. While on one hand it does seem like a fun way to sneak a splash of color somewhere, I wondered: would it make some clothes seem less appealing, because of the way they looked next to the wall color?
