Hi - I have 3 pairs of Paige denim, and all are very different as it turns out. Hidden Hills dark wash doesn't stretch much at all. Hidden Hills white jeans stretched much more, to my dismay.

I just got a pair of Paige Holly (petite) at Nordstrom Rack -- they are super soft, washed denim. I got them a size smaller than the Hidden Hills, and they do stretch a bit more. Not sure I could have gone 2 sizes smaller, though. I think they're the most comfortable jeans I've ever owned!

Good idea to buy 3 sizes and see what works best.

I also picked up a pair of boot-look shoes from Sofft with a 3 inch heel. I'm sure there is a more proper fashion term for this style of shoes that look like boots!

I just purchased my first pair of Paiges and they stretch a little. But not as much as other denim.

As far as footwear goes, you def need a pair of booties! That way they will give the look of boots but without the tall boots showing underneath your jeans. I swear by booties in the winter. My favorite have a 2 or 3 inch heel and Dr. Scholl makes very comfy ones that are priced low.

Here are some oxford booties that you could wear with jeans:

My experience with Paige denim is that they don't stretch. They feel like wearing sweat pants.

Hi Ginger...I'm in your age group, so I can identify with the desire to step up your look. I bought my first Paige denims (I like Hidden Hills) since joining YLF and I can tell you they don't stretch out much (unlike most denim, which stretches out almost a whole size). Each Paige pair is cut differently, though. I've found it works best to buy about 3 pair of the style you want and keep the pair that fits best. They can vary widely even in the same size!! But I can tell you they don't stretch much...so buy them to fit....maybe a tiny bit snug...but not too tight.

I wear Frye Carson shorties under my Paige denims. Many of the Frye boots come in "shortie" version and they work well under bootcut denim.

good luck and congrats on your first post!

Hi...long time reader-first time poster. I'm so trying to step up my look...I'm 47, a pear and a fashion klutz.

Anyway, I just splurged and bought my first pair of high end denim. Paige Skyline, bootcut. Two questions for you....

1. I love them but am wondering how much they'll stretch. One size fits like a glove, one size smaller I can barely squeeze into. But every pair of jean I buy ends up STRETCHING so I want to make sure.

2. I can't fit boots (Frye's -- another splurge) under them because the boots are too wide in the calf and bulge out. Do I wear flats? Or go with straight legs?

College reunion in a week -- must look good!
