If the collar on the poloneck irritates, you might consider a cowlneck or a polo that has a more relaxed fit... or just scarf it !

Thanks all. It is a lot of shoes Rachylou, they are my weakness. I could probably manage without the tall boots...but I do love them! And I am nervous about the ceilidh, I do have a sprained knee at present having physio but think it may be better enough to dance depending on how vigorous it is, but might need more than one pair with me in case. Will ponder more. Thanks all for commenting!

That looks good. I will say that I think that's a lot of shoes for six days, and shoes are heavy to carry...

Wow! You've done some terrific planning, Jenni! I very much like the outfits you've put together. Yes, the colors are a bit more somber than you usually wear, but I think you have livened it up nicely with texture, like the leather trim on the ponte pants and the subtle print on your jeans. I hear you about not liking to wear turtlenecks, but I do love the dramatic cuffs with the buttons on yours!
I'm envious you will have the opportunity to attend a Ceilidh - it sounds like so much fun! I like the idea of the gold oxfords with your outfit for that night - they look like festive dancing shoes!
Have a terrific time - you'll be both the most stylish and efficiently packed person at the conference!

I've never been too good a packer. I tend to take too much. I am on leave this week and have a 6 day trip planned, holiday leave then a conference. It is in a colder part of the country as further south given Southern Hemisphere. Thought I'd try your collective wisdom!
Day 1 pic 1: drive to airport, fly, be collected by friend, stay at friend's house. Beige tunic, charcoal knit pants, black merino layering T, leopard print fashion sneakers, tan handbag ( one handbag for whole trip).
Day 2: get dropped off to hotel early morning so friend can get to work. Ask hotel to mind suitcase. Hotel is in the central city. Either shop/wander about ( museums and art galleries available ) or hire a car for the day- not if horrible weather. Same outfit as previous day or if merino top is sweaty I have a spare thin merino same shape. Check in to hotel after 1500 hours.
Day 3 pic 2. First conference day with a reception in evening. Black snakeskin pattern Not Your Daughter's Jeans. Black gold studded Steve Madden booties. Grey merino layering T and stripey grey/beige/black wool jacket.
Day 4 pics 3/4/5/6. Second conference day with a Ceilidh straight after. Tartan shirt with grey pinafore over, black ponte/leatherette pants under and black knee-high boots with buttons for the day. Have tartan tights and either tartan ballet flats or gold Oxfords to change into carried in my beloved cute " walking shoes" bag. Anyone been to one? Will the ballet flats stay on my feet if I dance?
Day 5. 3rd conference day with a ceremony I'm not in in evening and then food/drinks to follow. Probably wear pic 2 outfit again with black instead of grey layering T?
Day 6. Final conference day finishing lunchtime, will have checked out of hotel in the morning and store suitcase at venue as shuttle to airport will leave from venue. Wear same pinafore as day 4 with different top under? Maybe the other ponte/leather pants with the cool panels? ( pic 7). Fly home, collect car, drive home.
Also, take extra warm options? Have a black turtleneck warm merino with cool buttons which I don't wear as don't like the feeling on my neck usually, pic 8. Have black woollen "thermals" ( T and leggings) available pic 9. May need these leggings under my jeans. Have favourite black jacket pic 10 and also favourite black/white swing coat with black gloves with faux fur, cream woolly hat and scarf, or grey cap, pic 11. Plus will take green rain jacket and umbrella. Conference venue 5-10 minutes walk from hotel.
If this is enough it will be my best planned packing ever. Also will take nightwear, underwear and maybe plain leggings/T-shirt in case of using a hotel gym but need to check if there is one. Otherwise the walking should be exercise enough.
The capsule has less colour than I often like but it is deepest darkest winter.
Thoughts anyone ? Thanks for looking.
