But then life happened - &nbsp;family members health issues, work deadlines and home improvement projects put shopping and fashion down the list of priorities. That is why I was not very active on the forum lately also. So I have to pack what I have now but there is nothing wrong with shopping while on vacation &nbsp;<br />First leg of the trip is my childhood home where my parents still live, and where I still have some ancient clothes stashed away. In that case a linen sweater or cotton might be a good idea for one of the "tops."&nbsp;</p> <p>I don't think 30 items is too many for travel carry on in summer...I do change a lot in summer, but if you don't have laundry in some places you need to ensure enough tops for that.&nbsp;</p> <p>Opposite of Joy -- I need a <b>minimum </b>of 3 bottoms or I go insane with boredom/ frustration!! It is just a number. I would never travel with so much. If I take 3 bottoms, it is usually one too many unless I need a skirt, but then I no longer wear shorts. Knowing that it will be hot and mostly casual will also help limit your needs. I am a bit envious that you can work with such a small wardrobe. I can when traveling and hope to carry some of that over to regular life. I am truly tired of my carry-on wardrobe after 3 or 4 weeks but it is worth it not to have big suitcases. Everything else is either too warm or too dressy, mostly both. If I don't count swimwear, sleepwear and gear then I have 6 slots to fill, and I will have to shop for it. Apart from a dress that I have already decided to look for, Suz is right, few more tops will be usefull and probably another shorts will not be a bad idea either. It is going to be casual and very hot, temp 30-35C. Activities include lounging in my parents backyard, barbecuing, visiting with friends and family, going out for drinks or dinner, some city activities like sightseeing, theatre and shopping, nature excursion with some light hiking, and lots of swimming and relaxing at the beach and swimming pool. This trip has 3 parts in 3 diffrent locations. We will be traveling by car and will be 4 days on the road in total. I will have access to laundry at the first 2 locations, but last leg of the trip is 10 days at family beach resort where I don't want to deal with laundry.<br /> I am currently struggling to reach 30 items.
