I had ordered my 6.5 in wides but had a thinner socks on and wished I had thicker socks on. It seemed the wides were a bit wider than normal because my feet would slide down when going downhill but I guess it would be great in the winter time. It rained hard every day (when it wasn't raining, it was gorgeous, though) and it was often cold and windy. So yes, a raincoat and waterproof boots are a must. If so, I'd reduce the load.</p> <p>I was in London this month (June) and when I was there, it was 50s/60s-- the temps had been forecast to be upper 70s for us. So while they are having a heat wave-- that could change. Quickly.&nbsp; Same thing for Amsterdam and Germany-- it was MUCH colder than originally planned and I was thankful for my jacket.</p> <p>I had 5 tops and 4 bottoms and, honestly, I felt it was still too much for me.
