That is an interesting idea - I will see if there’s anywhere I could put a few hooks down low that wouldn’t get in the way. The hooks by the door now are all taken up by dog leash &amp; harness and flashlight. My husband and I have been using a large boat bag under a bench to keep them somewhat corralled and with enough roominess that they can dry out. I got out of it because health, but my high school had a program - 40 days in the wilderness, no shower. It must have effected me subliminally, because I ‘camp dirty,’ I realise. A skirt, a dress, leggings, two tees, a light jacket and my puffer for 7 days. Possibly a long sleeve top and jeans if it’s later in the year. On the other hand, I just walk around, no kayaking or anything. And I certainly don’t pack light in terms of gear. Not anymore. No more fit it all in a hiking pack, lol. Dogs aren’t allowed on trails so… This year, I intend to add one of those shade tent thingies. I have two campstoves and a full kitchen’s worth of pots and pans. I have seen a few of these used by single person campers and they are so easy to set up, which is not a given. We have three medium sized dogs who travel with us so I know the scene. But in the spirit of keeping it real, here goes. </p> <p>The Backstory: Tomorrow we head out on the annual family camping trip (28 years now!). We head west to Sackets Harbor on Lake Ontario, and my brother, SIL, my nephew’s family and some family friends come up from NJ. There will be 11 of us, and we’ll be camping for 13 days. We’ll be boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, and of course, S’mores eating. Looks like daytime temps will be in the 70-80 degree range with mostly sun but some rain in the forecast. We have a small A-frame pop up, so space is at a premium.</p> <p>Pic 1: for 13 days I’ll bring 15 tee shirts. My graphic tees (gift shops, Eddie Bauer, Etsy) will be for campground activities, including boating, kayaking, paddleboarding (and that all important S’mores eating). The two striped non-graphic tees (J Crew Factory) will be for an evening at a casual restaurant in Sackets Harbor with DH (our anniversary is next week), and for another day in town.</p> <p>Pic 2: Two long sleeve graphic tees and one sweatshirt for cooler mornings/evenings. My packing cubes are also in this photo (just started using them, I love them). Can you guess which ones are mine and which are DH’s? </p> <p>Not Pictured: I’ll be bringing 4 shorts, 2 capris, 1 bathing suit (probably won’t go swimming at all). I’m also bringing two sweat jackets and one rain jacket.</p> <p>Pic 3: Hiking terrain is flat. I won’t need hiking boots, I’ll bring hiking sneakers with good, grippy (is that a word?) soles (Sketchers). I’ll also bring water shoes (JBU), and sandals (Land’s End, Macy’s).</p> <p>Pics 4-6: What I’ll wear hiking (bottoms: Eddie Bauer, Athleta, North Face; tops: Old Navy Active, Lululemon).</p> <p>Pic 7: Outfit for our casual anniversary dinner or day in town. The other in town outfit, though not pictured, is similar- duplicate top in teal (J Crew Factory), and denim capris (Macy’s, older than Moses but they look brand new).</p> <p>Pic 8: From last year; our A frame pop up with the puppers in the window (they’re coming with us).</p> <p>Pics 9 &amp; 10: Also from last year; hiking, and sunset at the campground.</p> <p>Pics 11 &amp; 12: Cosmo and Callie will be wearing their Bark Ranger scarves and spreading the “Leave no Trace” message.</p> <p>If you read all of this, I owe you a S’more!
