It's not warm for long during the day.&nbsp; </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/packing-for-mexico-city#post-1974837 Fri, 16 Nov 2018 15:40:39 +0000 abc 1974837@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Hi Sara!&nbsp; I lived in Mexico City for almost 6 years, now i'm 2.5 hours away.&nbsp; I can tell you,70 will feel cold.&nbsp; No one will wear sandals, you'll freeze.&nbsp; The temp on the gauge will feel colder.&nbsp; The elevation is high (higher than Denver).&nbsp; Layers are your friend, as Angie mentioned.&nbsp; It is cold in the evenings, overnight, and until mid-morning when the sun comes up and warms things up.&nbsp; Wear sensible shoes like flat boots, you'll probably do a lot of walking (and obviously to the pyramids).&nbsp; You may want to skip the dress, unless you wear pantyhose or tights under it.&nbsp; I know this sounds crazy, but I think you'll agree once you get there that the temps feel much colder.&nbsp; ALSO, we are going through a cold snap right now and it's been near freezing, which has sent Mexicans into a tailspin, haha, we are not used to this cold weather!&nbsp; You'll see people bundled up like it's the arctic, bc it is to them/us!! It's much colder at night. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/packing-for-mexico-city#post-1974821 Fri, 16 Nov 2018 15:03:22 +0000 Sara L. 1974821@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>We're leaving for a short trip to Mexico City on Sunday and coming back on Thursday (Thanksgiving Day).&nbsp; DH, my 3 boys (ages 12, 10, and 5) and my brother are all going on this trip.&nbsp; My brother lives in Iowa and will meet us there on Sunday.&nbsp; We're renting a 3-bedroom apartment through Airbnb for our group.&nbsp; The plan is to visit Teotihuacan on Monday and then spend the rest of our time visiting museums and seeing the sights.&nbsp; The temps are supposed to be in the low 70's during the day.&nbsp; This is the bane of my outfit existence.&nbsp; 70 degrees can feel warm or cool depending on other factors like how sunny it is, humidity, how breezy, etc.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The jeans and tops on the right of the photo are my traveling clothes: <ul> <li>&nbsp;Olive striped top, skinny jeans, olive utility jacket, watercolor scarf, white sneakers (not shown)</li> <li>On the way back I'll wear the blue polka dot button down top with all the other items the same.</li> </ul> Other items:<br />Tops - Pink cold shoulder tee, black polka dot blouse, black chevron striped tee<br />Bottoms:&nbsp; Black skinny jeans, olive drapey cargos<br />Tropical print dress that I'll wear with the white sneakers.<br />White cardigan<br />Shoes:&nbsp; White sneakers (not shown), black boots, black sandals (maybe).</p> <p> I might change the black sandals for my white loafer mules. They're also super comfortable and I can walk all day in them. &nbsp;</p> <p>I love looking at other people's packing posts but I'm really not that good at packing a cohesive wardrobe.&nbsp; I'll also bring lounge clothes, camis, underwear and socks that aren't shown.</p> <p>Anything I should change or missing that I should bring?&nbsp; Anyone been to Mexico City lately?&nbsp; Any advice?</p> <p>Thanks for your help!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
