This looks about right but... DENIM JACKET!!

And do you have a light cotton scarf? If my neck is warm, the rest of me is too, even if my arms are bare.

I don't know how cold it gets but if you have a thin cashmere sweater you may want to pop it in the bag too. I am assuming you packed a sweatshirt this time. Cashmere could work if you want something dressier. For when the temps dip down.

Love the soft colors -- they look like they'll all work together quite nicely.

Anne -- glad you are done, no picture though! Most my vacations sound just like this and the temps are similar (we always go to outdoorsy destinations and try to travel light). I usually did just what you do and start with gear I need for both the beach and the hike @ the most minimal, then add one rain shell and one fleece. Throw in a dress or skirt for church with a light wrap-type cardi that folds up small, add shoes. Then add another casual bottom and 2 tops. Into the gym back or hiking pack it goes!

Hope you have a lovely time, we'd love to see beach and top of the mountain pictures!

Done. Pictured below minus 2 pairs of shoes. About as minimal as I could manage and all fitted in my running backpack.
Thanks for your suggestions!

AHH - 10:20 and I still haven't done it (But the rest of the family are packed)

Joy - I am doing exactly that with the shoes.

I have made one decision that I think is going to help which is to wear my (gear) skirt/ bike shorts combo for the mountain. At a pinch it can function as a casual skirt for a few things and I don't have to worry about bottom coverage, which I would if I wore leggings.

My main worry is if it gets cold. We took a holiday in the same location when DD#1 was a baby and I ended up at the op shop buying her a sweatshirt.

We are in a house and will be able to do laundry, so that does make things much easier. Last holiday I spent far too much time traipsing to the laundry room.

Well enough YLF procrastination, had better go and do it!!

Wow! That sounds like a challenge. When I pack for trips, I try to go for one dark neutral and one light neutral that work well together, then one or two colours that work with both neutrals. That always seems to work well with the least amount of pieces.

The Vivienne Files has lots of packing wardrobes if you want to take a look, too. Have a lovely time!

Start with footwear. It sounds like you will need flats or sandals to dress up a bit, beach shoes and climbing/hiking shoes. Layering is your friend. Do you have a topper that can be worn to church and the beach and hiking in case you need the warmth? Light weight fabrics like nylon or silk pack down to nothing and can be washed by hand and dry quickly.

Am currently trying to pack for a holiday (vacation) that will include climbing a (small) mountain, going to the beach, going to church and temps in the low 20s but could get hotter or colder and could rain - in as few items as possible as we don't have much room in the car.

*sigh* - minimal packing is not my forte!!
