I echo what Suz said. And I love the longer hair. I'm going with #16 as my fave.

An amazing set of changes over the years! It's interesting to see how you have developed. Still a classic core, but more modern and less fussy over time, I think. Also, more confident. 25 is my fave!! You look great in skirts, actually.

Now that you mention it, I know what I think of as fun is not at all in the "sharp dresser" category. Sometimes I just don't know what to do... but pretty much always go for what will keep me entertained instead of what would get me points...

How much fun is this?! Faves are 16, 20, 22...all skirts/dresses, and I'm a pants girl...go figure.

Interesting questions, rachylou. I didn't post some truly horrid pictures from the early days where my shirts were clearly too short, not to mention my jeans. I think that was step zero, and getting fits reasonably right - most things were either too loose or too tight. And I was wearing the wrong size bra. Taking pictures helped a lot with lengths and proportions because it's not something you'd necessarily notice when you're looking at yourself in the mirror. Even in a full-length mirror I think most of us tend to look waist-up and not at the whole picture.

As I went through all my pictures trying to pick out the ones I wanted to share, it made me realize that my most successful outfits, at least in photos, are not particularly edgy or new. Some silhouettes work on me and lots don't; some colors work on me and some don't. So my personal interest to have fun with fashion actually clashes with my desire to look good.

I think that's what Thistle was getting at with her backsliding thread, too. A lot of us know what basic things flatter us, but often we're lead astray by the search for newness. How do you balance that with staying reasonably up to date and looking current? Now there's the $64k question.

Wow. Your look has really changed a lot. My fave is #22. Was it lengths of things that made for the most change, you think?

And now I'm wondering if I've fallen off the bandwagon... if I'd see continuous improvement if I lined up all my photos...

1st, love seeing the hair change and then change again. 2nd, how interesting to see all these together. To me, it shows how true you are to yourself, but how willing and able you have been to tweak the details and play with the proportions to get to the best you. Nice work

Astrid's thread got me searching through my iPhoto library to see if I could find some old outfit photos. There were some real cringe-worthy ones pre-YLF - lots of too-short pants and too-short tops (due to a combination of that was the style and my height).
1 - 2007, 2 - 2008, 3 - 2009
4-8: 2010. 4 was the first WIW I ever posted on YLF. Lengths of things starting to get a little better!
9-11: 2011; 12-15: 2012;
16-21: 2013 (21 - cropped sweater over button-down! Too bad I consigned the sweater when I realized it was 'too short', sigh)
22-25: 2014. 23 - photographic proof over my obsession with knit blazers. 24 - first semi-tuck! 25 is the first WIW I took from our new house.
