Thanks, kkards. I do usually air- dry jeans( except my gardening ones).

Firecracker, thank you. I am close to keeping the smaller ones only, as being most versatile, at a modest price. I have the Paige dark wash slight bootcuts from last year, though they are lower rise, and orrery slim fit in leg for me, so the ON ones would be for multi- purpose less dressy look when denim just seems called for. I can just about function with denim at all- ! - but one way it fits in now for me is to be able to wear some of my nicer tops and sweaters & jackets, rather than saving them for “some day”, but not looking too special.

I like the fit of the smaller ones for all-around versatility. I think they look great on you. And current, in the kind of Mom jean category. If you really want a boyfriend type fit, the larger size looks good, too, and is a look that I really enjoy wearing myself. But you might get a different pair later for that purpose, if it's a secondary priority for you. It doesn't bode well, to me, that the waistband is big enough to bunch up with a belt. I don't mind room in the seat, but the jeans have to fit somewhere! LOL

Also, if you don't really love either one, you could keep looking--always an option.

Unfrumped...from what i remember from back in the day when i worked for The Gap, generally (non raw) denim will shrink a little in length, but not in the width, although it will feel slightly tighter when you 1st put them on after washing. If you are washing in cold water, Most of the shrinkage will occur in the dryer.

kellygirl, good point, thanks.
The feedback is helpful.
Even though these are inexpensive, I’m thinking only keep one, if any. ON I think made these id a dark wash also , but we’re sold out online and in stores. I don’t currently have any medium- wash casual denim for transition seasons and just throwing on a sweater or a top + blazer. Though I like the comfy fit of the larger size, I realistically am more like to consider more fleecy fabrics for winter comfort so I might get more use from the somewhat more conventional fit if the smaller size.
I wish I knew if there would be any major shrinkage. These are 99% cotton/1% spandex which is good for a non- stretchy denim feel.

I had to think about the description--extra high waisted BF jeans! I think the smaller size looks great in the first two pics. I think the larger size looks great in 6/7 with the blazer. It's nice to have some options and if you are planning on wearing the jackets--could curtail (so to speak) any issues with the long bottom. You look so polished in all!

Thanks Angie! May be able to narrow things down to when and where I’d wear them.

kkards, thanks for comments.
Laurie, oh yeah! The larger size is definitely saggier from behind, and the waistband is more puckered up if belted.
Sigh. This is why jeans are less likely to be considered comfort wear. So is why I would consider the smaller size for tucking in and as a straight- ish jean for untucking. For roomier fits I probably need to continue with non- denim.

They both look good from the front, but in my experience often the fit answer has to do with how they look from behind. Maybe snap a couple of shots from that angle.

I like the fit of both sizes, and i think it comes down to how much bagginess are you looking for? For me the smaller size looks more like what i would call a girlfriend jean, ie a relaxed fit, looser than a skinny but not really into the baggy territory. The larger size is definitely more boyfreindy and while it is baggy, to me, it doesn’t look oversized or sloppy.

Here is an "uotfit lab" regarding size, fit and even whether/no for some Old Navy "extra high waist BF jeans".
I think "high waisted-BF may be an oxymoron, so these may be more "mom jeans", but I will leave that to denimology experts. But I did want a looser-leg style and not a wide-leg crop.

I have tried on 2 sizes--an 8 and a 10. The 8 is trimmer and so have question of whether it is too much so for tucking in, for the type of jean.
However, the 8 fit works better than the 10 if want to wear as just a looser leg jean with casual untucked tops and shirts.
The 10 is baggier and feels comfy enough to wear it even for lounging around home. also wondered if the looser fit is better and less "trying too hard". But since baggier, is harder to wear with tops out, as requires a lot of volume.

I have considered keeping both, to use for different proportions and situations as noted. Or maybe not.

I am not able to show back view (maybe that's good), and I do get the very long bottom with this style. I can tuck tops into some lower rise pants and so get long torso and less bottom, but always will have very loooong bottom with high-rise except when mitigated by very carefully tailored wide-leg trousers, and even then....., So that comes with the territory.

One kind of "look" I would be going for is the nicer shirt/blouse and loafers to be less mom-jean than with sneakers, then next a slouchier sweater and sneakers.

I think I have shown with loafers and a sneaker and OTBT flat boots.

Or, perhaps to others' eyes they both just look odd, so I could take that into account as well!

1-2 are size 8--with tucked silk shirt and with a cotton swtr.
Pic 3 - 5 are size 10 with different tops tucked in.
Pic 6 I think is the 10 , but anyway is shown with short tweed jacket. Pic 7 with Dakota blazer

Pic 8 is back to size 8.

Feel free to comment and suggest and y/n as well. I had tried some other jeans from online and was just finding it quite hard without being able to try on a bunch--as when Gap had a store here.
