So true Sally! Thanks for inspiring me! It was fun to do this. I've enjoyed your Pinspiration posts and agree that this exercise expanded my thinking about outfit composition. I plan to try it again in the future.

I like no. 3 and no. 11....the one with the hat and the one with the scarf the best but they are all good. The reason I like those two the best is they are both snazzy and inject a bit of personality into the clothes.
It's fun copying eh because it makes you think outside the box in terms of what you'd normally wear...otherwise I just put on same things in the same way.

Now, here's where you get to see, each to her own and it's all subjective, because I love the stripes and plaid look (your last one). Super fun! Though I would probably pair it with booties, myself (since my feet would be freezing in scarf weather).

My favourite of all is the velvet and lace look -- just gorgeous on you! The straight legs work perfectly well as slim BF jeans. Fun how you have incorporated animal print and echoed it in the cognac/ luggage bag.

I really like your inspiration pic 2 also for its rich mix of neutrals and softness. Her hat has a smaller brim than yours so the effect is a bit different, to my eye. I think your outfit looks really good but I hear you on the nuisance of a dragging scarf. It is amazing how you sometimes only discover the impracticality of an idea when you try to put it to work! One trick I used one time with a long scarf, where I wanted a vertical line like that but it was floating/ dragging around too much -- I knotted the ends to they had a bit more weight than the rest -- sort of like a drapery weight. I don't know if it would work with all scarves. Mine was a very lightweight one and not thick.

I love the grey sweatshirt/ pg and the lace shirt versions best.
I feel the last look has too much going on, but that's probably just me. The first one is ok, but the middle two are so good!

I love these Pinterest photos! You're inspiring me to pull out the velvet blazer I inherited from my mom and see if anything can be done with it.

I especially like the combinations with scarf and cross-body bag, as that seems to de-formalize the look in a way that really works for me. I love love love your outfit in photo #3, but it seems a little more boho than your usual? Nothing you've done is "frumpy-looking," but #11 is my least favorite. I don't think I'm used to seeing you in such high-contrast, structured outfits, in general, so it's taking some reframing. Do you feel like you in these?

My blue velvet Frame Blazer came back from the Tailor. I had ordered it in two sizes and kept the one that was too large. The tailor reduced it a bit, but not too much, because I kind of liked the over sized look.

I did a Pinterest search to hunt for some inspiring ways to wear it.

The first picture is not something I tried, but the jeans reminded me of the Frame Denim jeans that Una copied with a twist. Look very carefully, one leg has a shorter hem in front, and one has a shorter hem in back?! Okay, that's about as RATE as it gets right? What do you think?

Pic two is my favorite look. For whatever reason, I have a lot of looks with hats but I don't wear them very often because they aren't appropriate for indoors. I purchased one however, and I like it. I think the inspiration photo shows a white shirt, but I used a grey tank top instead. I don't have an animal print clutch. I decided my brown Donald Pliner equestrian booties, and a brown Coach bag with a brass horse logo would substitute. I'm not sure I would ever wear this because the scarf hanging like this is a nuisance! What do you think?

SJP likes Velvet Blazers! I found a lot of pics featuring her. I struggled to find the right grey top. I tried a grey tee, a grey blouse and a grey sweatshirt instead. The sweatshirt worked best. The metallic finish shoes make the outfit, so I pulled out my Paul Green Dorsay pumps. It looks like she has some sort of fringe hanging from one arm. I put on a bracelet that has a fringe tassel. I didn't bother to push up my sleeves, that looked too rate for me. What do you think?

My next look is a combination of two inspiration photos. I have been working to incorporate more texture, so I found this picture with a lace top underneath a velvet blazer. I also liked the next picture. Notice the Yorkie/Scottie Belt? It made me think of Angie! I liked the cuffed boyfriend jeans and it somehow inspired me to incorporate my animal print Beautifeel pumps. I never purchased classic boyfriend jeans, maybe I'm the only person who didn't? In any case, these are straight leg jeans, (Joes Jeans) not boyfriend, but they are large on me.

My final look is clearly a departure. I do not wear ripped jeans, but I liked the idea of some sort of interesting detail for the jeans. I decided on pattern, and paired my polka dot Hudson Jeans with a striped shirt, and plaid scarf from J Crew. The color scheme is are clearly different from the original. I chose shoes to bookend the jacket, similar to what was done in the inspiration picture. In this case, some Thierry Rabotin flats. Maybe mine is a more polished version? Is it frumpy looking? What do you think?
