I'm thinking the sporty luxe look. If you have a great jacket , fine. If you wanted to be more relaxed , a slouchy cashmere sweater, or stripey nautical sweater over silk blouse. Relaxed styles in elegant fabrications. Depends on whether you need option of removing layers and what things skew too frumpy vs. trendy when you combine them. LLBean meets 2014 meets ??

Or, here's another option to consider. I have a long white blazer.
This is fun! :)

Thanks for the inspiration pics, CINDY FONTAN! That is a gorgeous bomber jacket. I have a white denim jacket but might want to go a bit dressier for this event.

You ladies are wonderful!

SUZ--The chinos, uncuffed, just touch the top of my feet. Between the cool temps and the mosquitoes, no sandals for me tonight. I have black ankle boots with a 2" heel. I love your idea of hi-tops; I might see if I can find a pair today.

MELLLLLS--low could be in the 50's and I run cold.

JOY-- I love it that you found solutions from my own posts! Now why didn't I think of my black Charter Club jacket? What scarf color might you suggest?

I agree with Suz on her footwear and pant hem suggestions. For the top, how about a denim or chambray long sleeve shirt or jean jacket to keep the look casual and relaxed. You can dress it up a bit with fun jewelry. If you are looking for something a little more chic, how about an embellished t-shirt or sweatshirt? Or how about a bomber jacket? Here are some options. I hope this helps spark your creativity. Good luck and stay warm!

Windchime, how about crisp white like the top half of this outfit?:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....utiful-day
Or your black Charter Club jacket with AT tee (or a graphic tee)
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-first-one
A leather/pleather jacket, if you have one, would help cut the wind. You might add a summer weight scarf for extra warmth that can easily be removed if not needed.

First, are they long enough to be worn full length? If so, do you have a light coloured hi-top sneaker (for super casual) or a relatively flat heeled bootie? The reason I mention hi-tops is that if it's evening on the lake in June, there will be bugs. And if your ankles are bare, you will get bitten. Also, full length pants plus a higher vamped shoe/ bootie will provide greater warmth. If that won't do, and you want to wear sandals, you will probably need a big of bug repellant. Unless there is a completely screen porch.

I would look at some of Sveta's outfits with her blush pants in the same style. Her thread from this week included one such outfit. You can dress these up a bit with a silky top (if dressing up a bit is wanted) and add a blazer. Another option would be some fluid knitwear. It will be cool enough for that, so might as well enjoy it!

I have a casual outdoor social and dinner event this evening at a lakeside property. I had an outfit planned, but now find out it's going to be a lot cooler than I'd thought-- a high of only 70F, and likely much cooler than that because of the lake location.
I'd planned to wear the Old Navy chinos shown below this post. Can anyone suggest an outfit formula using them which will keep me warm and still read spring/summer?
Looking forward to reading your responses; thanks!
