That can be a fun way to make the pattern and color pop but have the overall leg line be a little more low-contrast. I like the idea of wearing the skirt with solid black leggings (cropped or long) as well. Love the skirt. Has a bit of a 60's vibe to me. I would wear the flats and a denim crop jacket sounds ideal for a casual look.
