Thank you for all your comments and suggestions.

So the majority thinks those jeans are fine. I wasn't so sure. I did feel like they were a bit baggy through the leg like Shell suggested, but I think I'm getting more used to that after wearing them all day.

Angie, I have worn my shirts out under sweaters before, but this particular shirt is very long, almost like a tunic. It would have looked funny with these jeans. I have worn this shirt out and belted with my skinnies. Funny Angie's post about the correct shirt lengths was the same day I wore a short top. I kinda wanted to show off the high waisted jeans though, so didn't want to cover that up.

I am 5'7" Tanya. My legs are long, but I think the camera angle makes them appear longer in the photos. Plus I think the shoes I was wearing have a crazy 3" heel. I was concerned about wearing high waisted pants being a little short waisted myself, but what the heck.

Nicole, your chicken comment was hilarious! I agree. I love so many different styles and I will try anything once. I don't even own a pair of straight leg jeans. Can you believe it? I should probably consider those for my next denim purchase.

Thank you all for the hair compliments. I just recently had it cut shorter. I need to get highlights now.

Shannon you look so cute! I love the neckline of the sweater.

I also wonder how it would look if you pull your shirt out and create a layered look.

I also agree with both Nicole and Maya. Life is too short to limit oneself to a single version of something. Experiment, try new stuff and enjoy!

p.s. Shannon, you have the best hair, and those jeans look really nice. Love the sheen. And the shoes. And sweater. And bag.

I agree with you Nicole. When I posted pictures of my jeans back in the day, everyone unanimously voted for the straight legs as the most flattering, and I got kind of fixated on that cut.

Now I'm pining for bootcuts. There are so many variations that I think it's worth it to try a bunch on and see how it goes. Perhaps it was the specific bootcut jeans I was wearing in the picture rather than bootcut jeans in general...and somehow, they definitely seem to look better on me when I wear my Converse shoes than my straight legs. The only cut I actively avoid are wide leg jeans and pants. I think they look stunning on certain body types, but mine ain't one of them.

http://bp2.blogger.com/_qjpwnP.....uJ1web.jpg

If those jeans came with the willowy legs, I'd be all over them.

This brings up an interesting point. Should someone stick to one pant style because it is the most flattering? I think that would get boring. If there is a style that is completely and totally unflattering, then by all means don't wear it. I think everyone needs more than one formula. It would be like eating chicken every single night, but using a different kind of seasoning.

I think you look awesome in those pants. The fullness in the legs is the style of the pant and you are tall and thin and can therefore carry it. They fit your backside perfectly, and the red shoes peeking out are such a fabulous little surprise!

I don't necessarily think the pants are too big in terms of size..they're just too baggy through the leg. This type of wide-leg pant doesn't suit you. Of the six pics you have posted, the skinny pants look the best. The grey wide-leg pants work because they are flat/straight - no wrinkles. The jeans just have too much fabric through the leg. Your best bet is to stick with a classic bootcut, which will just skim the leg.

Also, I agree with the other ladies - longer top!

I love the red shoes and gold bag with this. Now I think I've decided, I need red sneakers because i have a lot of brown tops. ;-)

I think your butt looks fine. Although, I do think that a longer top - just a few inches longer - might minimize your hips and butt a bit, if you're worried about them (I wouldn't be - but then again, I am always wishing my butt and hips were curvier!!)

Beautiful Shannon! LOVE the outfit (I have that Michael Kors bag in apple green). Your haircut is fabulous! The red shoes peeking out are smashing. You look fab!

Have you tried wearing your white shirt out to create an interesting layering effect? Jeans look great to me. Love the way you added white to brown. This is the best way to wear brown in Summer time. Well done!

Shannon you're so pretty! Love you haircut too!
I find that outfit totally adorable! I looove wide-legged and think these look awesome on you. I don't think they're too big, they look right to me. I have a similar pair and they fit the same. I'll post my picture in them at the end of the week.
Btw, how tall are you? Your legs look mile-long !

Here is todays outfit. I like it, but it was a task getting my shirt to look good under this sweater. I didn't cut off my head this time. It's nice to put a face with a name. Since we are all sharing so much here I thought you guys might like to see what I look like. I enjoy seeing all your pretty faces.

I took a picture of my back side because I wanted your opinion on these jeans. I have always thought they were too big in the hips. What do you guys think? Looking at the picture they don't look as bad as they feel. This is the only pair of wide legged jeans I own. I am used to my jeans being tight. Maybe that's my problem. You can sure tell I have one leg longer than the other in that picture.

From the angle of the camera it looks like all my pants are shorter than when I look at them straight on. The camera is pointed up a little. I need my tripod back from my neighbor.
