I dislike being cold but fortunately, in the Bay Area, I rarely have to deal with it unless we go to the snow. Like anything, I'm sure this requires a lot of trial and error. I love the idea of tights with a wind panel--who knew! I think you can get them in many places.<br />Moderate - I use smartwool thermal under tights. Mine are both from Mountain Equipment Coop and they have similar ones at REI. My tights have a front panel which is wind proof.&nbsp;<br />Extreme - Snow pants. Mine are Sunice and have 4 way stretch. They have a fused fleece lining. They are quite thin and very forgiving. </p> <p>Tops:<br />I use two levels<br />Mild to moderate - smartwool baselayer. Mine is from Mountain Equipment coop.<br />Moderate to extreme - Patagonia thermal midweight. I can't say enough about how great this layer is.</p> <p>I want to also mention that I purchased Paradox thermal baselayers from Costco a few years ago - tops and bottoms.
