Forest green, teal, burgundy, warm purples are good for both of us. But she rocks blues, especially cobalt, which is one of my worst. My trouble is when I pair those cooler colors with black, like she can, it's just overall too cool. But browns are often hard to find. </p> <p>Interestingly, despite going grey, her best colors are still the jewel tones. The first photo is from 1970 and the second is from 1974. She had a great, fun style that mirrored her personality. My mother loved fashion and was always impeccably groomed whether she was going to work or to the grocery store. Interestingly, I have a checked pantsuit and a similar jumpsuit like my mother is wearing in the photos. We both have a love for pattern and bold color. I definitely got my love of style and shopping from my mom. I remember when I was young especially, she wore mini skirts when none of the other moms did and always looked stylish. She was a young mom, only 21 when I was born, and dressed more conservatively when she got older but I always loved to shop with her.</p> <p>I don't have a lot of pictures from when she was young, but I love this one of her and my dad right around when they got married. And I think the second one is fun - me, my mom and my MIL on my wedding day. My dress was also my mom's wedding dress and made by my grandmother. This is my Mum at the beach, she was a dress girl too and was 29 in this picture, being a Mum to 3 daughters, I’m the youngest.</p> <p>My Mum died 4 years ago on 3 May. May is a month when I particularly think about her and the fun we had together. When she was young, she had aspirations of studying fashion design but WWII put all that aside. I still have some drawings she did as a teen and they’re wonderful. </p> <p>She was always very neatly groomed and took excellent care of her health and appearance. She was a very classic dresser. And she had a wonderful smile, even though she battled depression and anxiety her entire life. </p> <p>I love the dressed up photos from Easter (5) and Christmas, and of course her and dad’s wedding (3).
