We walked from the Tiergarten train station, walked to the Tiergarten, to Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, restaurants, shops. We biked to the 17. Juni Strasse, to the Brandenburger Tor to Alexander Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, and more - about 15 miles around the city in one day. You could take any city transportation to anywhere in the city. We rented bikes on the street. You'd be central and it's easiest to use public transport from there.
