In this order here is what works for me:
1. splash face with the coldest water I can find (I'm not actually awake when I do this)
2. Loads of moisturizer followed by under eye concealer
3. Coffee and lots of it!!!
4. Blush and lip gloss

I really would like to ditch my coffee habit but I've been told I slur my speech when I don't drink coffee

Ha. I use eye bright too. I usually layer it under undereye concealer, but sometimes use it on its own (it's less obtrusive because A) I have pale skin and B) I wear glasses). I think others recommend YSL Touche Eclat, but I haven't tried it.

For a full of-course-I-slept-last-night-why-do-you-ask routine, I conceal the hell out of my blemishes and dark spots; put color back into my face with blush and/or bronzer; use a rosy lipstain with a bit of clear gloss; curl my lashes and put some vaseline on them (better than clear mascara since it also darkens my blond lashes); and stick a pearly highlighter or eyeshadow on my brow bone (and BLEND).

I am sooooo with Sarah on this !!

I LOVE Eye Bright. I also use it on my tear ducts and some times as an "eyeliner" under my lower lashes. This thing has changed my life. I could get 10 hours sleep and still look tired because I have such dark circles.

I also use it around my nostrils, in the middle of my chin and in the cupid's bow on my lip or any place I have shadows. Just make sure to blend really well.

Chamomile tea bags: brew the tea (drink it) and then put the tea bags in the freezer for a few minutes. Lay down with them over your eyes to reduce puffiness.

As well as the tips above I can recommend eye drops and also curling your eyelashes to really open up your eye area.

Also, I find a bit of bronzing powder helps too - makes it look like you have spent some time outside rather than in front of a computer screen!

It's not a secret, but a little blush works best for me. Usually the brightest color is most flattering, but keeping with what's appropriate for your skin tone... And I would say the same could go for clothing. Are there colors that really bring out the best in your skin tone?

i also use this for under eye: http://www.drugstore.com/produ.....=222778438 the yellow neutralizes purplish under eye circles (if you use it carefully/sparingly, if not your skin just looks yellow...:) )

i will have to try that eye brightener, too, sarah. thanks!

another thought, eye drops might be helpful if you tend to get the red eye look?

Yes, yes! This little thing
http://sephora.com/browse/prod.....yId=C10339
is quite magical.
I use it under my eyes (I trace the bag lines, and then blend with my finger) and voila, I instantly wake up!
Also, stay hydrated. Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water per day.

I relish the challenges of my job, but between long hours at work during the day, intense workout sessions at the gym in the evenings, and late night dance practices, I'm not getting very much sleep lately. And when I do get to bed, I'm often woken up by phone calls from work...

I'd really appreciate any tips you guys have, to not *look* like I've slept less than a handful of hours. I know the best solution would be to get more rest, and I am doing my best to achieve that, but there are things that can't be cut out of my life right now and they give me a sense of purpose and accomplishment....but I just need to not look like a mess at work. Advice, please?
