Believe me, people will remember those that are eager to learn and are attentive. Ask people how they got into the business that they are in. Ask what advice they have for someone starting out. Did they have a mentor ? What advice do they have on websites or business cards or marketing yourself. Get as much juice from these people as possible. At the end of the conversation ask for THEIR business card and ask if you could ever call them for more guidance. Everyone wants to talk about themselves and make a sales pitch.
