The first photo is of one of our dogs, Fred, and my younger sister, Heather. Fred was found wandering the village near my parents' farm and was taken in by a barman in the pub my dad frequents. My dad fell in love with Fred, as he did with all our other rescue dogs, and brought him home to my sister. Heather has Fred spoiled rotten but he is an adorable, energetic dog. His favourite game is being chased around a field for a tennis ball as he doesn't quite get the concept of fetch.

The second dog is Black, the very original name given to her by the same barman who also rescued Fred. She is a Labrador/ Sheep Dog cross, and is the friendliest dog ever. Sadly, she's nearly twelve years old and starting to show her age but she still loves soccer.

Thanks Mo. My BF was out of town so I felt compelled to warn him that he was coming home to Mr. Bigglesworth. It's the fact that HE seems so sad and embarassed that makes me just sick about it. Not much to do at this point though...

Poor kitty! My BF always threatens to 'bigglesworth' the cat(s) when shedding gets bad in summer. Not if I can help it! Luckily, like bad haircuts we get, it will grow out! (Love your kitchen, by the way)

So I had to add a follow-up post because I am feeling like the WORST parent ever. About once every year or so, I get my kitty (see earlier post for him, resplendent on my dining room table) groomed just to help manage the shedding. They shave his belly and trim the sides (but leave his cute ruff and tail untouched). You can see where this is going, right? Took him in on Saturday over vehement objections of my boyfriend and, well, there was a mishap. This is what he looks like now. He is just radiating misery and humiliation. I feel so badly! To add insult to injury, our other kitty hissed at him when he came home and poor Obe has been slinking around the house, totally dejected. I hate myself for doing this to him!

RandomThought, I thought MY dog had the biggest ETH (ear to head) ratio! Those guys are so adorable. I like pointy dogs too, especially dogs that look like wild animals (foxes, wolves, or in Kona's case, a deer).

AG, what a gorgeous dog!

I love "pointy" dogs - pointy ears, pointy faces, streamlined bodies...

Currently I only have 3 dogs (I've had as many as 6 at one time)

First is Brenna, aka Am/Can/Int'l Ch Saorsa Brenna of Eire. She's an awesome little girl with a ridiculous amount of personality. We say she is half street fighter, half debutant. She'll be 13yo in December (Pic one is recent, pic 2 is my fave show photo)

Booboo is Bren's littermate. Boo is the most easy going, easy to live with dog. She's smart, sweet and I cannot think of one naughty thing she has ever done. She rules the roost.

And then there's Zepar. NERD! He'll be 6yo next month. He's huge for the breed (Basenji, like all of my dogs) but the biggest dork on the planet and such a wussie boy. I've shown him but he didn't like it so he's done some racing instead and is quite good at that.

All three dogs sleep in bed with DH and I and I wouldn't have it any other way. We'll be introducing another dog soon and we're looking forward to it!

Here's our rescued husky-greyhound pup, Kona, waiting patiently for me to stop taking photos this morning. She has spruce sap all over her right now (don't ask).

We also have two cats, Riley, a 17 year old brown and black tabby, and Sera, a Russian blue. All our pets have been rescued from the pound... I can't go by there without picking up another animal!

Sarah, yours are cute as ever and I love the Bombay comments!! My BF was never much of a cat guy until my Bombay adopted him. It would crawl in under his shirt and come up out of the neck to 'hug' him. Followed him all over the house like a puppy. Too cute. Sadly, we lost her young but she had a big heart for him. We will probably get another of that breed someday.

I love all of the babies! So fun to see them all.
Here's my brood.
1. Abigayle (four year old Tabby)
Abi is my first furbaby since getting married and I love her. She was born to a feral mommy under the porch of a farm house. She is very independent and very particular about things, but she is the first one to greet me when I wake up every day or when I get home from work. I have only heard her pur a handful of times and she has only curled up in my lap a handful of times, but those moments make me teary eyed because I know they were hard earned. Her favorite past time is playing fetch or sleeping in the open window sill.
2. Kimberly (just turned four year old British Bombay)
Kimberly is a text book BB. She doesn't just love me, she adores me. She is my puppy dog baby. She doesn't sleep on my lap - she prefers snuggling into my neck or being held like a baby. We have coffee time together every single morning, and she is the first kitty to snuggle in bed at night.
3. Molly (we think she's around 2.5 years old and she's b&w)
Molly came to us in a string of strays over one spring/summer. We found homes for the rest, but she was in a unique situation. She was sadly dehydrated and starving and very, very pregnant. I took one look at her eyes and couldn't say no. She waltzed in the house like she was destined to live there and has never left. She had her babies a month later (four) and took one look at the quarters we set up for her little family in our guest bathroom and appeared to be quite pleased. She is the most loving cat I have and shows her appreciation with many kisses and loves. She adores my husband and I know that she knows that he's the one who saved her little family.
4. Jasper (our only little boy! who is 2)
Molly had four kittens, three boys and one little girl. Two boys (one was a siamese) went to live with my in laws, and I get to check up on "my boys" every few weeks. Jasper and Lily never found homes, so they got stuck with me. Jasper was very skittish and fearful up until just a few months ago. He still terrorizes the girls on occasion, but he's quite content to sit in my lap for as long as I let him. The poor thing has ever so slightly crossed eyes - a subtle nod to his siamese brother I suppose.
5. Lily (the baby of the family at 2)
Lily is Molly's only girl, and she is the princess of the family. She loves to sleep nights on her back in the middle of the floor in my room, or near my feet wherever I happen to be. She and her Mama also spend time curled up in a basket sleeping.

All but two of mine play fetch. As in, I throw, they catch and bring back, and I throw again.

I'm always glad to share pictures of our boys. They are usually on my lap while I'm online. They are also the reason I decided ponte knit pants might not be for me. Dewey is 3 and Eddie is 2. They are half brothers. Next week my husband and I are taking them to a Halloween party/winetasting for dachshunds and their humans.

Oh my gosh - this is the BEST thread! I am just smiling while looking at everybody's babys! I will GLADLY show off my girls:

Pic 1 - Zoe, the one and only animal that my husband and I have ever adopted as a baby. She is 17 1/2 years old now, the best cat anyone could ever have - she's laid back and friendly and welcomes all of our hospice and foster animals as if she's known them forever. When she was 6 months old her mouth got stuck open one day when she yawned - she ended up having to have 2 different surgeries on her jaw and re-learn how to close her mouth and chew! She has slept on my pillow on our bed every night for over 17 years.

Pic 2 - the miracle cat, Dallas. She was horribly abused and tortured (I will not go into the details) and found in a local resident's garage. She was rescued by the local animal shelter, but so very old and sick and scared and depressed - she was given only 2 weeks to live, so I brought her home to live out those last 2 weeks with us at our house. That was 2 1/2 years ago! She has doubled her weight, recovered from all of her injuries and trauma - and is our "baby." She's pretty "high-maintenance" in that she requires a lot of special medical care everyday - but she's happy, affectionate and she and Zoe LOVE each other! At nights she sleeps in the crook of my knees.

Pic 3 - this is Delilah - a quirky little kitty that has lived with us for the past 6 weeks. She is also a hospice cat (as is Dallas, and as was Kiki) - we don't know anything about Delilah's background, but she has a neurological condition which causes her to wobble when she walks, she is deaf, blind in one eye - and finally just a few days ago figured out how to use a litter box. (Yeah!)

Pic 4 - and finally, I just had to include a picture of my boy, Kiki - our little hospice cat who passed just 3 days ago. He had been with us for 10 months. Love and miss you Kiki.

She is very silly, curious, naughty, elegant except when she isn't, obsessed with sleeping in suitcases...

What a great thread! Love seeing everyone's furbabies....they all look adorable! We have only Biscuit....Ive had him since he was 3 weeks old (way too young, but had an abusive owner) she brought him to me at 11:00 pm one night, with no warning, and said if I didnt take him, he'd probably die (the others in the litter had starved- which I didnt know about or I wouldve taken all of them) the mom had no milk and she didnt want to deal with him. So I took him (of course) and he needed to be fed with a eyedropper at first, then handfed everything (he was/is terrified of plates-I think she tried to force him)so to this day -9 years later- he must be handfed every meal! He's quite the tough guy/baby mix! He had 3 eye surgeries before he was a yr old and cancer surgery 11 months ago, but TG, he's doing great!
