I was in D.C. last weekend for the mini-storm on Saturday and was shocked to see how slow the response was in terms of plow trucks/salting.</p> <p>I think I mentioned this before but I heard a presentation by a noted climatologist a couple of years ago and he mentioned that we (US) should expect cold &amp; snowy winters for the next 20-25 years. Apparently, it is some sort of cyclical weather pattern that has something to do with ocean wave/wind patterns in the Atlantic (obviously the details are fuzzy!).
