Mochi ...

I am so glad that this treatment helped you so noticeably, and I'm especially grateful to you for posting your experience with this.

My Mom fell and broke her collar-bone last summer, and she still has very limited range of motion on the side where the collar-bone was broken. Now granted, she has *not* gone to PT (don't ask - Mom is just stubborn about these things), but I'll be sure to mention the acupuncture thing to her. There are some very good TM and acupuncture clinics just a stone's throw from her house.

Very exciting! I love stories like this. Something that isn't expected to work, ends up working amazingly well.

Meanwhile, I just love seeing the photo of your arm raised up to the ceiling like that. After all this time, healing, doing the right things (PT) and you up and try something a little bit off the beaten track and it works? Kudos to you for trying something new-ish and keeping an open mind about these things. So glad it worked out so nicely for you.

Here's to that arm being able to do things that nobody expected. Yay!

Hi again, crutch. I would hate for you to go to someone and not have it be effective...I have no idea if they are all equally good in this particular area, maybe they are or not, so I would ideally try and get some referrals from people who've had injuries. Makes it more challenging, but you want results. PT has been helpful--necessary, really--but the effect has been gradual. This was much more dramatic, so I hope you have your best shot at having a similar result.

Thanks...I am in the midwest and Boston would be a commute but after your wonderful success story, I am looking for an acupuncturist in my area...
Hope you have continued improvement...I do understand how involved the elbow and shoulder are...royal pain...

crutcher, please feel free to private message me (obviously with the disclaimer that I'm only going to give you my personal experience, not a doctor, etc yada). If you were in the Boston area I would hook you up immediately with this acupuncturist. I do believe that it had a major effect, in my case. I did also work very hard at PT and am still doing it, and it of course helps too. I'm very sorry about your elbow...happened just a bit before my accident in December.

I was intrigued with your shoulder progress...I had a broken, smashed elbow in November which led to a frozen shoulder..The PT has just gotton the shoulder unfrozen and is working on strength and straightening the elbow...The acupuncturist is an interesting piece of the success for you...Do you think your success now is due to going to the acupunturist?...
I have also been told I would have limited straightening of my arm...
THX for sharing..

YES, anna! Backs are pretty complicated, and it's surely a question of trial and error to find the right treatment(s), but I absolutely think we shouldn't give up or blindly accept the doctor's verdict.

I felt like this was very powerful.

Physical therapy has already brought me a lot of improvement, gradually, over the past five months (for a fractured humerus/shoulder). About two weeks ago, I started doing acupuncture with someone who came highly recommended for his success in treating sports injuries. In two sessions, it loosened my shoulder joint dramatically.

The first pic shows what my physical therapist as well as orthopedic doc had told me how high I'd expect to be able to raise my injured arm laterally by the end of treatment--to about nine or ten o' clock.

Yesterday I showed my PT how I can raise the arm completely vertically. Its range is no different than the right arm. His jaw practically dropped to the floor. He gave me a big hug. I felt very emotional.

I am not saying that doctors are wrong or should never be listened to. I did ask the PT how they reach these conclusions beforehand (he didn't really have an answer).

I plan on getting back to, if not 100%, then at least 99%.
