We observe 2 minutes silence in the UK and yes it is always so moving and even more thought provoking when you consider all of the conflicts which continue in the world today.

Let's never forget those who gave their lives for our freedom. They gave all.

And bless their families for the permanent loss of their loved ones.

Oh Sharon that is wonderful that they did that - this lessens my disappointment in the world considerably.

The girls and I were out, but we observed our minute of silence, and I was really touched by how interested Em (6yrs old) was in the reasoning for the silence, and how it seemed to really mean something to her.

I happened to be at my local shopping centre at 11am today (11/11) and the centre piped the Last Post over the PA system. Almost everyone in the mall (and it is a big mall) stood still and observed the minute of silence. I was moved that in this very commercial environment the important things that make us who we are as a nation still counted. I have to admit to holding back tears.

Lest we forget.
